Harry Horowitz prided himself on never getting depressed, but for the first time in years, he was feeling blue. His wife of seven years, Lindy Nocal was no longer his wife, their divorce had become finalized.

When they had married Harry was concerned because he always felt that George Nocal, her Dad wasn't his biggest fan. He realized this when an hour before the wedding George offered him a hundred thousand to walk away from his daughter and never turn back. In hindsight, Harry should have taken the money.

Their marriage had been fine, there was never any animosity or adultery, but there had been disappointment.  Harry wanted to have kids and Lindy was always hesitant. She constantly made excuses.  It was the one major issue in their marriage that they couldn't agree on. Harry pleaded and coaxed but Lindy would always say she wasn't ready. Once when Harry was making love to Lindy and asked about her getting off her birth control pills she simply stated it wasn't going to happen. She wanted to go see the world and wasn't ready to settle down and be a Mom.  Later, Harry said he was confused, she had never mentioned traveling with him around the globe and she shook her head. ''Harry, you are a nice guy, but over the last few years, I've found you boring. If I asked you to go travel with me you'd be a snooze. I'm not trying to insult you, but how much money have you made in the last seven years. I mean you have these dreams about writing bestsellers and selling screenplays and writing musicals for theatre, but I just don't see it. If I had a child with you they would grow up nice and normal with no rebellious side. I need a guy like my Dad, a kick-ass kind of person who never takes no for an answer. I'm sorry Harry but I think we need to break up and get a divorce. ''

It hit Harry like a ton of bricks and when he asked if there was another guy, she swore there wasn't.''I feel stale Harry, I need to get my fire back, I need to be free. I'm sorry I know this comes as a surprise but I've been thinking about it for a while. I will always love and respect you, but I just don't want to be married to you. I'm sorry, we both need to get on with our lives. I hope we can do this amicably. There's not a lot of assets that need to be divided, we can sell the house, and pay off our mortgage and split whatever's left.''

The following months were a blur, both sides hired divorce lawyers and everything was hammered out between the representatives. Harry felt lost and completely in flux, he never saw Lindy's unhappiness and never in a million years expected that they would be divorcing. If he compared it to a football play, it would have been called a Blindside.

About two weeks after the finalized divorce decree came in the mail, Harry was invited to a Bar Mitzvah at his synagogue. He wasn't feeling much like partying but he had accepted the invitation from his friend Shmuel, so he was obligated to go. When he arrived the first person he ran into was George Nocal. ''I told you it wouldn't work out, you should have listened to me before the wedding. Oh well, I wish you luck.'' Harry just looked at George, he was adding insult to his injury. ''By the way, if you would have made big bucks instead of living in fantasy land, I'm sure you would have had a family and Lindy would have still been with you, but I guess you couldn't figure it out. I told Lindy you wouldn't succeed and you proved my point.''
