*Cassidy's POV*
I roll my eyes as my sister and I walk out of the mall after a day spent shopping together. She's a firm believer that anything that can go wrong, will go wrong, so I'm not surprised at her concern about the fog when we step outside. In Mikaelah's mind, this could be the end of the world, but I'm certain it's just another Michigan afternoon. We live just outside of Detroit, so a little fog is nothing to get uptight about.
After some significant convincing, Mikaelah agrees that it's better off if we just brave the drive home before it gets dark and we head onto the highway. The first few minutes in the car are spent in an offputting dead silence. In order to start up a conversation I ask my twin why she worries so much, and we get into a bit of a debate over which mindset between ours makes the most sense. It starts out just something lighthearted, a sisterly quarrel that's bound to end quickly, but it begins to build up until we're yelling at the top of our voices. It becomes a blur of anger and colourful language that lasts for what seemed like an eternity. But it's not an eternity, because I say one last thing.
"You know what Mikaelah? Sometimes I really hate you!" I scream.
And then the car hits, and the only response I get is a scream and a crash, and then silence.
