Luke was small, always had been, and probably always would be. It was something that he’s gotten used to it, he could ignore it easily.
That’s until Ashton came around, with all his endless limbs and a beautiful face.
Usually Luke would ignore a boy as perfect as Ashton, but Ashton wasn’t having it. Ashton would always walk Luke to class for no reason, and do little small tasks for Luke such as getting his lunch for him or even paying for it. Not that Luke minded.
Ashton is good at reminding Luke of how small he is, especially compared to him. Compared to Ashton, Luke is as small as a baby.
Luke liked it like that; it helped when they were cuddling. Or making out. Or having sex. They fit together like two puzzle pieces, they always did.
Luke was bullied, brutally in a context. He got treated like shit, he got beat up, and his self esteem was constantly being brought down.
All because he’s short? No, of course that’s not the only reason. It’s because he’s a “fairy” or because he’s ugly; no parenthesis because he knows that’s true.
Where’s Ashton, you might ask? Never there, that’s for sure. But he’ll be there after Luke is done taking the beating, and that’s what counts, right? Wrong. Luke wants his “boyfriend” to defend him. Or at least grab him away, because like Luke said: he’s small. Ashton has a much better chance of getting the one or two guys to go away but he’s never there to even try.
Luke ran into the boy’s bathroom, crying, after taking another beating.
"It’s only a couple kicks to my ribs, and a bloody lip. I’ll be fine." Luke told himself, as the tears wouldn’t stop streaming down his face.
He heard the bathroom door open and, “Luke?”
Luke knew who it was. The thoughts of Ashton whispering in his ear, “I’ll always protect you. No matter what.” flooded through Luke’s mind, and he had to take deep breaths to keep from screaming at Ashton to go away.
He felt Ashton wrap his arms around his waist from behind, and placing his head on top of Luke’s. Luke flinched at the touch, and pushed Ashton’s hands away as he splashed his face with water to rid of the bit of blood.
Ashton stood there, frozen in his spot. Luke never pushed him away.
"What did I do?" Ashton asked, and it came out harsher than even he expected.
"Nothing." Luke said, feeling even smaller than he already is. He wanted Ashton to go away so he could sit in a stall and cry until his heart’s desired.
Ashton went back behind Luke, and placed his hands in their last position.
Luke sighed and rolled his eyes as he continued to splash his face with water, grinding absentmindedly against Ashton’s crotch; too focused on trying to rid his face of blood.
Luke felt Ashton backing up, and shrugged. He turned around to be slammed against the wall to the left.
Luke almost cried out, because he did just get kicked in the ribs repetitively but it was swallowed by Ashton’s mouth. Luke’s instinctive said automatically made him respond, but he quickly pushed Ashton off because he was mad at him.
At least that’s what he tried to tell himself. He knew that Ashton was just trying to protect himself, and he didn’t want Ashton to get the treatment he was getting. Luke leaned up from the wall, getting on his tippy toes to kiss Ashton more softly.
"I find it adorable how short and small you are." Ashton said against Luke’s lips, and Luke could feel Ashton’s smile.
"I like it when you shut up and kiss me."
