What Happened on the Night of August 14th?

CHAPTER 1

August 12th,
It's a very hazy morning. Charlie woke up from her deep slumber and look at her clock, it was 6:41am. "Time to get ready" she said to herself. She got up from her bed and went to the bathroom. She turns on the tap and stripped before hopping inside to shower.

7:02am, she finished with getting ready and went out of her apartment to go to her job. She worked at a local dinner as a waitress. She liked working there since its a well-paying job. She gets fees from customers who likes her service and mostly her manager is proud of her work. Her job is only 5 blocks away from her apartment so she just walks to work everyday.

7:24am, she arrived at work. She greeted her co-worker and wore her apron. "Hey Charlie!" said her best friend, Alissa. Alissa and Charlie has been friends since childhood, they haven't left each other sides after moving from Illinois to New York. Alissa said she wanted to be a musical theatre star but right now she stuck with this job. "Hey" Charlie responded "Did you know that Tessa is gonna come back to work today?" Alissa asked. Tessa Morrison is a girl that had a long-term holiday because she got a real deadly illness. Hearing this news Charlie was shocked. Tessa and Charlie has been friends since she moved to NYC. Also they are very good friends.

7:40am, the door bell jingles. Oh, it's Tessa! They were waiting for her for a long time now. They were happy to see her walk through those doors,"Tessa sweetie!" exclaimed Alissa in excitement "hey guys, hehe" Tessa said and giggled. Charlie was also happy to see her, she went up to her and hugged her tightly "good to have u back, Tess" she said, almost tearing up "yeah,, it's good to be back, Charles" Tessa replied to Charlie, hugging her back.

1:15pm, customers started to pack the diner. This diner is a small diner but it's pretty popular. We has always told our manager to renovate it, he said he might someday but not yet. He loved this diner more than anyone since its been passed down by his ancestors to him. Its pretty cute to see how much he loved the diner. At the age of 34 with two children, I bet he can't wait to continue his ancestors legacy down to his children, the workers there are happy to see his smile, its really soothing.

3:35pm, Tessa went home early. She had to because her mother was sick. Its really sad to she Tessa's family, they're all pretty easy to catch diseases, we all hope she has a happy life after this. We hope she can finally cure those diseases and live happily. We can just hope for the best for Tessa. Like what Leia from Star Wars said "We have hope"

5:43pm, today went by like a flash. The store is almost closing already. Charlie pack some stuff and took out her phone. New message from Matt huh that's weird, he haven't been messaging me lately, what does he wants?

Matt: hey CharChar, I was wondering if u hav time this evening around 7 pm. I wanna take u to a restaurant that I really like. If ur free around that time, pls message me back, love you!

Wow, typical Matt. He always would bring me to different restaurants every week. Welp, if he wants to be sweet then it's fine.

Me: yeah am free tonite, I'll go back home and dress up. Are u picking me up? X
Matt: yeah ill pick u up, bb. See you soon!

That was a quick reply, Charlie thought to herself. She went home and got into a comfy dress and applies make-up. She's not into heavy make-up so a lil bit was enough for her.

6:37pm, Matt arrived and waited in front of the apartment.

Matt:hey hey, I'm here, come down and let me gaze on ur beauty lol
Me: shut the fuck up, MatPat

He likes to do that to flatter me. Well, he did succeed at doing so, so I guess a win for him? Charlie came down and hop onto his bike "so, where to?" she asked him, wondering what this restaurant could be, "its a place downtown called 'Levvy Pie Bakery', she cooks real good pies!" he answered with pure enjoyment. Matt always liked pie, that's why his favourite YouTube is Pewdiepie. "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go eat pies!" Charlie said, trying to sound excited. Charlie has always had a calm voice, shouting or screaming isn't her thing. However, Matt still loves her.

6:51pm, they are ordering pies at the pie shop. "Can I have one meat pie please?" Matt said to the waiter "yes sir" the waiter replied. Charlie just went with a normal Blueberry Pie. "Hey can you recommend to me horror movies?" Matt suddenly asks Charlie. Charlie is known as a big horror movie enthusiast and a musical nerd. She knew a lot of horror movie and a few musical that are pretty good in her opinion. "Yeah sure Mattboi, you could watch 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Part 2'. You've only watched part one, so you gotta continue the franchise" she replied "shit, you're right. I completely forgot about that franchise bacause I wanted to finish the 'The Nightmare on Elm Street' franchise first. Damn, I forgot shit" Matt said. Did he forget my birthday too? She asked herself. Of course he didn't, what boyfriend would? Honestly she doesn't know if he remembered or not, she doesn't care. The food came earlier and they both eat it to the crumbs.

7:48pm, "I swear to god Matt, you gotta watch the 19s IT movie! It's really good!" Charlie said to him while they were riding his bike back to Charlie's apartment "okay, okay, I'll try to watch it but it better be good!" Matt said to her "I swear you'd like it" she said back. They haven't stopped talking about horror movies since they were inside the restaurant. Heh, nerds.

8:00pm, Charlie and Matt said their goodbyes and went their ways. She got to her room and unlocked the doors. She was greeted by her pet cat, Hannibal. She named him that since she really like that character. She went into her room and change into a comfy PJ. She checks her phone New message from Matt

Matt: hey Miss Charlie Emily, miss u already, I'm playing SW:BF2 rn, wanna video call and watch me play?
Me: haha no thanks Matt, really tired rn, also yeah miss u too bb. Gutnatch, MattyPatty
Matt: Gutnatch kwen <3

Charlie closes her phone and went to sleep. Hannibal jumps on her bed, meows and sleeps next to her. This day is pretty great. Just two more days till August 14th and it's finally Charlie's birthday but right about now, we just wait and rest. She fell asleep.
