I slowly opened my eyes as a stripe of sunlight shined thought a crack of my window blinds with delicate and almost unnoticeable chipping of the birds in the background. I rolled on my side where my nightstand with my alarm clocks stood. My vision was still blurred so I rubbed my eyes to get them adjusted and focused on the clock again. The clock read 9:54 AM and a smile took a place on my lips "Ahhh...how I love summer holidays" I said in a whisper to myself. I slowly stretched my arms and legs and sighed in satisfaction. I reached for my phone that was on the nightstand and opened it. I noticed I had some notifications. I checked all of them and then plugged in my headphones. I opened up YouTube and clicked on my favorite music list. I smiled as the first beats and soon the rhythm of the music filled my ears and mind. I listened to the tunes for a while when I felt a lightweight on my bed and then on my stomach. I smiled as I opened my eyes to be greeted with a pair of blue innocent eyes of my husky puppy. I smiled as I patted my upper chest. The puppy before me wagged with (his/her) tail and lay down in between my breasts and resting their head in my neck. I giggled and patted (his/her) soft fur and enjoyed the calm and beautiful morning. I looked down at the relaxing puppy laying snuggled against me. I saved (him/her) when (he/she) was just a newborn puppy.
~ Flashback ~
I was taking a walk in the town but decided to head to a nearby park to get some rest from the noises of the busy town. Unfortunately, when I wanted to get to the park I had to take it through a 'dangerous' part of the town. Everybody knew it was the 'dangerous' part of the town but the town government didn't want to invest money in that part of the town and as the time went on the people soon forgot and accepted the part of the city. There were no broken houses and garbage everywhere. The houses were nicely built and you would tell that it is just like any other neighborhood but that is where you are mistaken. The nice buildings and calm atmosphere is just a trick to hide what was really there because the society that lived there and neighborhood relationships were on a completely different page. Every time there could be seen burned down car or garbage cans, people will spray each other a house with paint and then will come to your door to tell you that 'someone' sprayed their house or you can live next to someone who was accused from murder, is murder or kidnaper. The cherry on top takes people that make drugs right below their houses in basements with a number of chemicals that could poison or blow up the entire town. The ones who live there know it but pretends like everything is okay even though you don't know what will happen next and they all live in constant fear of tomorrow.
I was halfway through the 'dangerous' neighborhood when I heard laughter of young teens from behind a house that was 'On sale'. My body stopped and my head snapped to the direction where the laughter came from. I was staring in the direction for a moment till the laughter died down. Unknown to my mind my body started to walk to the garden of the house only to stop in shock. There lied a female husky dog on the ground with cut ears and cuts on her nose and all over her body. Next to the dog was four small newborn husky puppies that were wet from water and didn't move. Images of what could possibly happen rushed to my mind and I felt tears slipping from my eyes and falling down my cheeks. I heard a small shuffle from a bush and a whimper. I slowly went to a small bush and lifted a few of the branches. I gasped in shock when I saw one small newborn husky puppy still covered in blood and whining for their mother. The instincts to protect spoke sooner then I could think of anything and soon I was carrying the small bundle to the nearest vet wrapped in my hoodie to protect it as best as I could. I paid for the vet and the doctor told me if I wanted to adopt (him/her). I immediately nodded and the vet told me and taught me how to take care of this small puppy 'You will need to come every week for a check-up if the pup is doing well, but I am sure (he/she) is in good hands' he said with a smile as he rubbed (his/her) small head with a thumb as the puppy leid in my arms wrapped in (f/c) blanket 'Do you have a name for this little bundle?' one of the nurses asked as she gave me some materials for the puppy in a bag 'No I didn't think of any yet...' the nurse smiled and the doctor seemed to be thinking 'What about name Lucky?' he asked suddenly. I smiled a little and looked down at the bundle in my arms 'I think that suits (him/her)' and smiled. The doctor and the nurses also smiled and I thank them 'No need to thank me miss (Y/n). We will see each other next week okay' I nodded and took the bags from the nurses with some baby dog food formulas, and some things like dog bowls and collar when (he/she) will be older 'Have a nice day Mr. Brown! Please tell the nurses that I wish them a nice day as well' I said with a smile 'You too miss (Y/n) and I will tell them' he said with a smile as I exited the main door with Lucky sleeping in my arms and headed back to (his/her) new home.
