"Nicht jetzt (Y/n), ich habe Arbeit zu" (Not now (Y/n), I have work to do)
This is a sentence that I heard more than I can count. I picked up my confidence and walked from out from my room and down the darkened hallway. I stopped by a large door that belongs to my father's office. I puffed out my chest, ready to knock but harsh German made me froze in the spot. I couldn't make what they were talking about but soon I heard multiple pairs of footsteps. I persuaded my body to move and I jumped out of the way. I hide behind a large vase with a small tree and peeked out to see who was in dad's office.
There were two officers holding a female country. She tried to break free but the officers only pushed her arms behind her back to stop her from squirming. She had white wavy hair as well as a top half of her face. Her bottom half of the face was red as well as the rest of her body. She looked like Mr. Poland but I noticed sewed up the name 'Czechoslovakia' on her warm leather jacket "Schlechter Escort war nicht auf Lager?" (Worse escort wasn't in stock?) she growled towards dad's office with a smirk, which earned her a harsh kick in her stomach. She groaned and coughed in pain as they walked down the hallway.
I was shivering and all my confidence left me. I gulped and walked from behind the vase and walked to the still-open door. I peeked inside to see dad with his full uniform as he was looking from a window and messed with something in his hand. It was a blue triangle with a string. 'An eyepatch?' I thought to myself as I watched dad spin it on his pointy finger, then catching it and grabbing it tightly with a growl, escaping him.
I exhaled quietly and knocked on the door lightly "V-Vater?" (F-father?) he didn't even budge "Was ist es meine Tochter?" (What is it my daughter?) he asked with monotone voice "U-um...well...I-" "Speak up!! What did I told you about stuttering!?" he turned to face me. His face had an annoyed glare "That you hate it, Vater" (Father) I said and looked down "Ja. (Yes.) Now what did you want" he said walking back to his desk, slamming the eyepatch on it and picking up some papers "Well...I wanted to ask you if you could spend some time with me?" I asked and he looked at me.
"Please?" I plead but he just waved with his hand and leaned to his office chair "Nicht jetzt (Y/n), ich habe Arbeit zu" (Not now (Y/n), I have work to do) he said and I sighed turning to leave."(Y/n)?" he said and I turned to him with hope in my eyes "Ja Vati?" (Yes dad?) "Close the door when you exit" he said, not breaking the eye contact with the paper document in his hands. My smile dropped "Ja Vater..." (Yes father...) I grabbed the handle and closed the door.
I placed my head on them, feeling a tear slip down my cheek. I couldn't understand why was dad acting like that. He was good before but then he suddenly changed completely. I walked slowly back to my room. I felt another unwelcomed tear falling from my eyes.
I jumped as I heard barge open dad's office doors. I looked frantically left and right then I hide behind a large red curtain that covers me completely. I saw as dad walked passed me quickly with his coat over his shoulders and red bandana with a white circle and a black swastika in the middle on his upper arm, the same he has on his face He headed down the stairs quickly "Ich muss mich um ein Geschäft kümmern. Ich werde erst morgen spät zurück sein" (I have some business to attend. I won't be back until tomorrow late morning) he said to the servants and slammed the door that was echoing through the whole mansion. I turned to the window to see dad slip in the back of a car riding away.
