"Listen, either you're telling her or I am, but we're clearing things up tonight."

A silence arose once again. All the boys looked at each other, while I simply looked down. They knew. They knew all along. About what I was doing, why, yet they all just went with it? They didn't even bother to tell me I didn't have to embarrass myself like that anymore?

In the blink of an eye, just as a thunder roared through the sky, everyone started arguing. Voices raising, hands flying up, everyone closing. I crouched down, closing my eyes and putting my hands over my ears, trying to block the noise. It all became too much. I messed up. Big time. Jisung was right, no matter what happened, it was going to end bad.

"GUYS, SHUT THE F*CK UP." Minho yelled at the top of his lungs, hinting towards me. The guys still shot glares, but calmed down. A single tear escaped my eyes. No matter how much I tried to hold it in, it all came out. "I'm so sorry" I repeated over and over, my voice completely broken and hot tears streaming down my cheeks. The guys looked at each other again, but this time feeling more helpless than angry. Even though I screwed up, they couldn't stay mad at me, not when they could clearly see how much I regretted all of it.

Jeongin crouched down in front of me, carefully placing his hand on my upper arm and started softly rubbing it. "Y/N, why don't you sit down on the bed for a second? I think we all have a lot to clear up right?" I hesitantly opened my eyes, both red and blurry. I could see Jeongin smile, even though his eyes match it. With his help I stood up again, carefully sitting on the bed. I didn't even dare to look up at anyone else, too scared to face them.

Jeongin eyed to Felix, who quickly nodded to get some water. I didn't even look up when he gave it to me, simply mouthing a thank you. Jeongin was rubbing my back as he sat next to me, the others all divided through the room. "Y/N... I want to talk about what happened in your past" Jeongin started. "What exactly do you know?"

I took a deep breath, finally letting it all out. "I know that apparently I'm royalty, I used to be friends with Bangtan but as my parents chose a king for me their parents got so mad they killed mine... That's when you guys came in, and apparently you were assigned to try to win my heart or anything to become kings as well.... That's about it." Jeongin let out a deep sigh. "No wonder you were this frustrated with and scared of us, if I were you I would've bombarded us with questions."

He continued. "Y/N, can you tell me if you even remember anything from before you met us?" I carefully shook my head. "All I remember is my mother's voice, saying 'find them, they'll take care of you' just before she... You know, got murdered. Jeongin retrieved his hand from my back, awkwardly fiddling his thumbs.

"You don't remember anything because we had your memory wiped." Before I could even react Jeongin already continued. "Hear out the entire story first. Just wait okay?" After seeing me nod he started talking again. "Our parents have known yours for a long time. They didn't talk much, but remained good friends. Your parents reached out to ours after finding out bangtan's parents were freaking out. They told them to find you and hide you from bangtan to make sure you'd be safe."

I could feel myself slowly look up at him, listening carefully to every word he said. "Our parents weren't the sweetest ever. They assigned us to win over your heart to become king, but later on we've learned it was so that the circle would stay small. They wiped away your memory so you would completely forget about bangtan, hoping you'd never get in contact with them again for your own safety."

I let out a sarcastic chuckle. "Well, that surely turned out great" I whispered sarcastically, not loud enough for anyone to hear. "When bangtan did find you, we swore your parents we would protect you, no matter what it took. Even though we were all just young and basically controlled by our parents, all we knew that they were dangerous and we couldn't hand you over."

I finally looked up at everyone's faces. All looked down, serious. "So...you mean you guys didn't actually kidnap me?" I looked back at Jeongin, who looked rather shocked. "Is that what Bangtan told you? We literally saved you from their parents!!" he instantly denied. "But if this all happened because of your parents, why do you guys still hate each other so much? I mean, didn't you guys ever try to explain things?"

Chan let out a sigh, now sitting down on the bed as well. "We tried to, multiple times actually. As we grew older and as our parents actually left we reached out to them, trying to talk things out, saying we shouldn't make the mistakes our parents made. However, when it came to you there was just no way we could agree... Let's say we both thought it would be better for you to stay at our place, or so said, to who you 'belonged'. It turned into a fight, and eventually things escalated, turning it all into another war.

Hyunjin rubbed the nape of his neck, feeling more guilty than ever. "Actually we did the exact same thing to you at first as you tried to do to us, we're no better than you are... I shouldn't have gotten so mad." I vigorously shook my head, now looking up again. "No, you had all the right to. All this time you guys were protecting me while barely knowing anything about me yet here I was, questioning you and putting you in more and more danger..."

My voice trailed off as my eyes fell on the ground again, more embarrassed than ever before. I felt so stupid for not trusting them. For not trusting either one actually. Both groups were simply influenced by their parents, not even knowing better. They simply did what they believed was right. But that was the one thing I still needed to find out, a question only I could answer.

What was right?
