chapter zero - christmas

A quick repost of the Christmas story I wrote, thought it clarifies some things for Envious Love.

A cold, chilly day in Elmore. Gumball got his clothes on and is waiting for the bus, with his best friend, Darwin. It's been about 3 months since Hot Dog Guy and him started dating, but only Darwin was aware of their relationship. He planned on coming out on Christmas, all though he knows it's going to be difficult. He imagines how the situation will go out.

"Mom, Dad, Anias, I'm... I'm dating a guy,"

"How dare you! That's absolutely disgusting!" Nicole yells out.

"We're going to kick you out. There will be no homosexuals under our roof!" Richard screams.

He shakes his head, his heart rate going up faster. There were plenty of gay couples around town, and neither of them spoke poorly of them. That calmed him down a bit. All though it most likely won't happen, he was still anxious, due to the fact that Christmas Break starts tomorrow. Suddenly, The bus arrives, and he hops on. He sits in the back, with Banana Joe, Darwin next to him.

"Hey, how is it going Banana Joe?" Gumball asks.

"Pretty good! My parents got a lot of presents for Christmas!"

"Oh, nice. My parents did too," Gumball says, lying.

"No, they di-" Darwin starts, before Gumball cuts him off, death staring at him.

"We got loads of presents! Even the hot toys!" Darwin says, fakely. The bus screeches in front of the school, and everyone gets off. Gumball notices HDG at the steps, waiting for him. He smiles, and runs up to him, and hugs him.

"Oh no, are we going back to this hugging thing?" HDG says, jokingly.

"I'll hug you for the rest of my life if I want to," Gumball says. Back over to Darwin, he smiles at the happy couple before him, and Banana Joe looks up at him.

"They seem very clingy. Do you know what's going on with them, since you're uh... how are you related to Gumball again?"

"First, they're very good friends. Second, they adopted me,"

"Oh, okay."

The four walk into the school, going to their respective classrooms.

"How would you like to come to my house someday?" Gumball asks HDG.

"I don't know, after last time I went to your house, we did stuff that traumatized me,"

"You want more, then?"

"I get plenty after school,"

"Oh, that's right~"

"Shush,"

As the two walk to lunch together, Carrie and Darwin make it to the group.

"Seems as if a couple has joined us," Gumball says. HDG stares down at him, then looks ahead.

"Can we go to the bathroom to talk in private for a moment, Gumball?" HDG asks.

"Yeah, sure. The two make it to the bathroom.

"When are we going to go official on this?" HDG asks, clearly concerned. Gumball flusters a bit, then looks down.

"I... don't know. I broke up with Penny, and they don't know. I planed on telling them on Christmas, but I'm not sure they'll accept me,"

"I'm sure they will,"

"What about you?"

"I... rather not talk about it," They hear a stall door open. They see the ballon they know as Alan... float out.
