Just like that, my weekend was over. "Another week means more homework! And the upcoming quidditch match! and possible pop quizzes! WHY??!!" I silently screamed into my pillow. I rolled over and started kicking my blankets. I dangled my arms over the sides of my bed and rested my chin on my hand. "Y'know, we'll get to see-", my thoughts were blocked out as a loud creak was heard from the bathroom.
"Mary! You've been in that bloody bathroom for over an hour! Hurry up! we've got to get to class!", Marlene shrieked, her light brown wavy hair flying everywhere. "Shut it! Iris is going to strangle you with her hands if you wake her up!", I silently screamed, trying to restrain Marlene from busting down the bathroom door.
"Oh, hi Violet. Sorry, I didn't know you were there."
"Nah, that's fine. Wanna go to breakfast together?" Marlene's eyes widened. "Yes or no?' I said, smiling. Marlene raised her eyebrows. I walked over to my closet and pulled out my tie, shirt, and my sweater. I put on my grey pantyhose and threw on my vans, as usual. I put on my skirt and put my hair in half-up-half-down space buns with hair whispys framing my face. I washed my face and groaned.
Marlene stood at the bathroom door. "Ozzy Osborne?", she asked. "Nope, just plain Violet", I replied, focused on my eyebrows. Marlene giggled, then went digging in her hair bag. She was still figuring out what hair clip she was going to wear when I came out. I shook my head, picked up my bag, then went downstairs.
I started humming the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in E Minor, op. 64, not realizing that there was a person in front of me.
"Um, morning Vi", Sirius said, really surprised.
"Did I scare you?"
"Uh, yeah."
"Good, I intend for my space buns to be intimidating today. ", I said, smiling as the whole world depended on it. Okay, maybe I was overdoing it, but I had spikes on my hair ties. Way to go for hairstyles!
Now I was in the dining hall, sitting with the Mauraders at our usual spot. I grabbed the coffee and poured a ton of milk into it. Sirius sat next to me. " Hi! Nice tie.", I said, ruffling his hair.
"Haha, Vi", Sirius said, his tie tied around his head. I saw that James was angrily eating his breakfast without saying a word. "Hey, what's wrong with-Ga-games?", I said, then Sirius covering my mouth. I glared at him.
"SSHHH! James is upset."
"Um, why?"
"Look over there", Sirius said, turning my shoulders and pointing to the door. Two shadows were walking in, one of them a girl with mouse-brown hair and a boy with long, dark, greasy hair.
"Oh my god!", I said, quietly, quickly turning my gaze away. "Did she just-"
"Oh yeah. She just ditched us. Ha! look at that. Iris with Snivelus.", Sirius said, scrunching up his face, his bangs covering his eyebrows. He was glaring at Severus.
I sighed, now both of us looking at Iris laughing and Severus shyly smiling.
"Yeah. James's going full emo now. He wasn't even carrying his stupid snitch!", Sirius said, pointing out the obvious.
"Sigh. I don't know what to do.", I sighed, giving her a look.
( A few moments later......)
I was salty in charms. I sat with Marlene because Iris ditched us and the Mauraders to sit with Snivelus (I've decided to call him that because now I had a little grudge with him). I try to focus on the positive side, though. Marlene is funny and the most artistic person I know.
