(steve's pov)
The movie was about 20 minutes in, it was good, but I couldn't stop looking at natasha who was sitting shoulder to shoulder with me. No cuddling or anything, just sitting.
"I find it ironic this movie is about dancing and you just taught me how to less then 24 hours ago." I laughed.
"Makes it even more fitting." she responded glancing over at me.
As the movie continued to play she got tired, which she should've because I can bet she's seen it over 30 times. But her head started to sway to the side. She kept snapping back up. Maybe not knowing that I didn't mind? So I took my hand and gently laid her head my my shoulder. She grinned a little bit.
"Thank you." she mumbled into my arm.
"No problem." I whispered.
I however, was awake for the rest of the movie. It was really good I could see why Nat liked it so much, but she fell asleep with a good hour left. By the end of the movie she was snuggled up into my side like I was a pillow, and my head was on top of hers. I decided to channel surf to tire myself out and settled on a show called Grey's Anatomy, it was the pilot from 2005 so maybe I could catch up on it. I got to episode 3 before my eyes became heavy, and was out only a few minutes into it.
(natasha's pov)
I woke up to a bright light blinding my vision, it was the sun, but I found myself on a couch hugging something. Then I remembered all of last night, even the part where he insisted I fell asleep. I look up, he's still sleeping, so I decide not to move.
What were we doing. We're only friends, and him doing this to me isn't fair. Of course I'm in love with him. How could I not be, but I couldn't show it to him and ruin our friendship. 10 minutes later I decided to get up, and leave a note so it didn't seem like I left him high and dry. I was walking, and decided I needed someone to talk to. Pepper, she's trust worthy.
Before I knew it I was knocking on her door.
"Hey, Nat! What are you doing here?" she said to me.
"Hey, uhm I need to talk to you." I said in a much more panicked tone then I meant to.
Peppers expression changed because of that, "Are you ok? Are you pregnant or something?" she asked.
I almost laughed, but it hurt that I'd never get to answer yes to that one question, but that's beside the point.
"What? No, I just need someone to talk to." I responded.
"Of course, yeah come in." she smiled pulling me in.
"So what's up?" she asked.
I then continued to tell her what was going on with Steve and how he asked me to stay and what happened the past two days.
"He asked you to stay here? And you said yes? That doesn't sound like you. This Steve crush is really getting to you." she said.
"It's not a crush." I said back putting my head down playing with the bracelets on my wrist knowing how I felt wasn't going anywhere.
"What? You love him or something?" she said with a little laugh.
But then I just sat there putting my head down farther and turned to the left.
"Oh my god. You do." she said gingerly.
(pepper's pov)
"Pepper I don't know what to do." she said almost scared. This is not like Nat.
I then walked over and sat next to her putting my hand on top of her fidgeting ones.
"Tell him how you feel?" I very lightly suggested.
"How could I do that? I don't date, and if I ever were to I would date to marry, not for fun, and me? Getting married? It doesn't go in the same sentence. I also know Steve way too well. He's gonna want kids he's old fashioned, and well-." she paused for a long time and began crying at this point I'm hugging her, "I just can't do it." she said beginning to cry.
"Nat, look at me." I said pulling away, putting my hands on her face, and wiping her tears away, "you can do whatever you want." I then pulled her back into a hug.
We sat for awhile just like that before she spoke for just a second.
"He called me his favorite person." I could tell she was smiling.
