Chapter 5: Plastique

Here we go

My name is Barry Allen and I'm the fastest man alive. When I was a child, I saw my mom killed by something impossible.
"  Run Barry Run. " my dad said. My father went to prison for her murder.
Then an accident made me the impossible.
To the outside world, I'm a ordinary forensic scientist,  but secretly I use my speed to fight crime and fight others like me. And one day I'll find who killed my mother and get justice for my father.
I am The Flash.

Previously on the Flash
" Who do you think you are?" Caitlin asked Barry.
" This is what we talked about, using my speed to do good." Barry said.
" We talked about you containing other people- meta humans." Caitlin said.
" After all these journalism classes, I started a blog." Iris said.
" I thought you were talking journalism classes, not science fiction." Barry said.
" Ever since I have known you, you have believed in the impossible. What if you were right about  that night your  mom died. What if something out there is saving people." Iris said.
"  See you soon, Barry." Felicity said.

Barry voice over:
How often do you think about how we your friends came into your life.  Was it random, bu design or maybe little of both.
Regardless of the reason, some friends you just know are going to be there with you for a while.  Others you're just not sure.
And then there's that one friend who someday becomes something more. But "friend" will have to do for ,now.

" I'm glad you invited Caitlin and Cisco." Iris said coming up to me.
"  They're cool, right?" Barry asked.
" They saved your life, Barry. That's makes them the coolest people I know." Iris said.
" Dad, in the little time  I've got to know them, they are incredible." Nora said.
" It's nice that you guys became friends." Iris said.
Cait and Cisco  come over with shots.
" To friends old and new." We toast.
" I'm up. Wish me luck." Iris says.
" Don't get cocky West." Eddie said.
" Dad, why is mom with Eddie?"Nora asks.
" Nora, you gotta ask her, not me." Barry told Nora.
" Guys, we have a problem." Barry said.
" Yeah we do when  guys like  him  exist."Cisco said.
" Yeah. He's so hot. Uh I mean genetically speaking because I'm  a geneticist. Oh my God. Do I sound like Felicity? Cait asks.
" We're talking about this. We can't feel anything." Barry says.
" Yeah. That usually happens when you drink too much. Cisco says.
" No I mean the alcohol isn't affecting me. I mean I literally feel nothing." Barry said.
As Nora  picks up one of the glasses that Cisco brought over, Barry says
" Nora no you can't drink." Barry says.
" Why not dad? I'm an adult." Nora says.
" I'll get more shots." Cisco says as he walks away.
" I swear I had a vacutainer kit in my bag some where." Cait says.
" Wait you carry a blood collection kit in you purse?" Barry asks.
" You have your hobbies." Cait says.
"  I can't get drunk. I'm only 25 and my drinking days are over." Barry says.
" Oh  dad. Yours are too. You can't drink." Nora  says.
" Come on Allen. Your turn." Eddie says.
Just then Eddie gets a notification saying,
" There is a bombing at  8th and Pass.  Eddie says.
" I have an early shift at Jitters tomorrow. I'll see you later, Barry." Iris says as she walks out.
" It's getting late so we gotta."  Nora and Barry said as  we zoomed to 8th and pass.
" Help! Help! Somebody help." The man said on the building.
" There's a window washer  and he's going to fall." Barry says as he looks up.
" Don't try and catch him." Cait said.
" You don't have super strength like Kara." Cisco says.
"  Wait is there like a mattress store here. What if I get  a bunch of mattresses and stack it." Barry asks.
" Barry this isn't a roadrunner cartoon." Cait says.
" Help! Help." The guy shouted again.
" How fast would we need to go if we need to run up the side of a building?" Barry asked.
" 50 meters. Give or take." Cisco said.
" Guys! Hurry." Nora screamed over the comms.
" Just run really fast and you'll be fine." Cisco said.
" But you need to maintain your velocity on your way down." Cait says.
" Or what?" Barry asks.
" Or Splat." Cisco says.
" All right, All right. Here goes." Barry says as he runs up the building.
