My whole face turned red as I melted on the bed with pure embarrassment

"Mom? Why is your face red? Are you sick?"

Taehyun questioned as he puts his hand on my neck, I grabbed his hand and shook my head, answering his question that I'm not sick, I hugged him tight as I took a glimpse on the clock and saw that it was time for us to get ready for school, I broke the hug and was about to get off the bed but he stopped me

"Why honey?"

I asked him, he looked at me seriously

"Mom..."

"Promise me..."

He stated, I wonder what this kid is on, maybe he wants a new toy and if he took the top place in his class, he might ask for a toy again, just like he always does

"What is it honey? Do you want a new toy again?"

I asked looking him in the eye, but he shook his head, he shook his head and grabbed my hand

"Promise me that you will stay away from dad"

He said seriously, what? Why? I thought he had so much fun with him that he might want him to come more often

"Wh--"

I was about to ask him why when he cut my words off

"There's no need to ask why mom, he left us already, he can't even remember his own family, and most importantly he hurt you mom, a man like that is not worthy to be called my father"

As I heard his statement, my eyes started to become teary, he's only 6 years old and he's already this smart and caring, tears started to flow down my eyes as he wiped them

"Don't cry mom, we don't need him, you've already raised me alone for 6 years. Where was he when we suffered? Those nights that we had to sleep on the streets, those nights that you've put me to bed with a smile and when you thought I was sleeping I heard you crying. Where was he? He was nowhere, so promise me mom, promise me that you will stay away from that man, I feel like he's up to something bad"
