an apology

hi everyone,

this apology is well overdue, and i want to apologise for that first of all.

in the third chapter of this story i included pictures of what i thought would match the descriptions of katie and emily. when picking a picture for emily, i used a picture of a girl who, presumably, was mixed. she wasn't caucasian, anyways. i didn't even think about it when picking that picture, and i should have realised.

people began to comment about the girl in the photo being mixed, and instead of owning up to my mistake, i became defensive. while this three or four years ago, and i didn't understand how harmful this was like i do now, i still owe all of you an apology. i'm sorry.

being on this app, i've become much more educated about current issues, and i'm so, so grateful. thank you all for giving me a space to learn and grow, and again, i'm sorry for any past mistakes i have made. they do not reflect my opinions/feelings now.

i've removed both photos from the chapter. however you want emily and katie to look while reading is up to you :)

thank you for supporting this story and making it what it is. i'm still in love with it, and i love how much it has allowed me to connect with all of you.
