Having traveled for several hours, Hope was thrilled to feel a change in the pull of her spark. Now it directed her towards a nearby woods. Landing in a cleared area, she stretched her tired wings before transforming back to her bi-pedal form.
Moving softly through the forest, she was unaware that she had attracted the attention of a unsavory sort of mech, until he spoke.
"Hello sister, and what is a femme like you doing out by yourself in this place."
"If that's a pickup line, it won't work." she replied, glancing over her shoulder.
The wolf-like Decepticon slyly grinned at her. Her wings flared out in warning as he moved closer.
"Hmm, no Autobot or Decepticon symbol. Are you a neutral than?"
Her optics never leaving him, she matched her steps with his, every instinct on alert. This was no reformed Decepticon but rather a rogue. So intent on him, she almost missed the rustles in the trees around them. Her hearing receptors picked up the whispers and her form tensed in preparation to move.
"Get her!"
Shooting straight up, she missed being tackled by a moose like Decepticon. Blaster fire followed her as she darted between the trees. Back and forth she flew until once again they cornered her among the rocky ledges of a nearby canyon.
Cursing silently, she watched as they came closer.
"I'd back off if I were you."
"And what's a femme like you going to do?"
She let her rage flow through her before forming a bright light between her servo's. The rouge Decepticons paused in confusion and started to back away as the light enveloped her.
They didn't get to far when a strong blast struck the rocks above them. One rock slide later, there was a wall between them and her. She could hear their angry voices as they tried to find a way around the blockage. Leaving them behind, Hope continued on her mission to find out what her spark needed.
************
She didn't have to far to travel before the feeling to land came. She was puzzled because it led to a scrap yard of all places. Studying the walls surrounding it,she noted the weaponry active along the edges.
Lifting off the ground to get a closer look, the blasters seem to be pointing inward. That was peculiar. Why would all the defenses be targeting the inside?
She was startled by a loud clang and metallic roar nearby. Alighting on the wall, she hid behind a large crate. What she saw below was mind boggling! Was that a dino bot being chased by a mini bot? From behind came another large mech and two mini bots who were soon trapped by a force field.
Hope swiftly moved around the exterior of the wall, observing the chaos. In the midst of it all were two humans. She could catch snippets of conversation. From what she could understand, the out of control mini bot was a friend but its circuits had somehow gone berserk.
Well, we can't have anyone getting hurt can we, she thought and encircled the humans with a clear shield before vaulting off the wall and landing behind the rampaging mini bot.
"Dad! It's another bot!"
Ignoring the humans for a moment, Hope moved closer to the mini bot. It whirled around and armed its cannons before it ran a scan over her frame. Its metallic voice held a hint of confusion as it searched its files for her signature.
"Hope, Champion of the Primes, off lined 8 years, 3 months, 10 days ago."
"Hope, Champion of the Primes, onlined two weeks ago." she responded snarkily before sighing. "Come on little guy, it's time to return to your senses."
Reaching out, she lightly sent a probe of healing power through the small bot. It blinked its optic shutters several times before focusing in on her. All around them, blaster sentries and fields retracted.
The mini bot studied her a moment in bafflement then turned to the adult human.
"Danny Clay, am I functioning fully once more? My optics seem to be seeing an off-lined Cybertronian in front of me."
"Uh Fix-it, she doesn't appear to be off-lined."
"Oh, good...wait what?"
Turning to the humans, Hope felt the bond tug before she heard the familiar engine roar. With a joyful squeal, she launched herself at the red mech as he came around the corner.
*************
Sideswipe found himself holding the very solid, very warm, and very real Hope in his arms. Her elated face plate only inches from his own. He lost his footing in shock and they tumbled to the ground. Sprawled in a heap, she started laughing and sent a warm ray of love to him through their bond.
"Hope...is that...is that really you?"
"Still the flashy sports car Sideswipe?"
Grasping her by the shoulders, he studied her before clenching her to him. Rounding the corner and skidding into a pile of bikes, the dino bot rolled to a stop.
"Don't worry Sideswipe! I'll save you!"
"No Grim, it's not what you think!"
Before anyone could stop him, the dino-bot was charging at them. Thinking quickly, Hope threw a shield around the humans again and darted into the sky out of harm's way with Sideswipe.
The dino bot paused in confusion at their disappearance before a familiar black and yellow camero pulled into view, followed by a police SUV that transformed.
"Grim! What is going on here?!"
"Uh sir, you might want to take a look at this."
The police bot pointed up to the sky where Hope and Sideswipe were hovering. The camero transformed into another mech she had sorely missed. Smiling broadly, she waved a servo at him.
"Hope?"
"Hi Bee."
