Hope's Return

Mystery Bot

It was mid-afternoon when Hope alighted on the cliffs. She peered at the paved road down below and watched for any oncoming traffic. As she was about to transform, she was startled by a young girl's voice.

"Wait a second Daddy. I thought I saw something."

Moving back into the shadows, she watched as a young girl with bushy hair moved into sight. The girl peered up to where Hope was but the bright light pouring down prevented her from seeing Hope who leaned back further into the dark overhang.

A deeper voice called once more and she groaned in frustration before turning and heading back to where Hope assumed her father was waiting. Edging closer, she watched as the two headed to their gray van. 

"Chief Burns called. Apparently Cece managed to get herself locked in the bank vault but was saved by a new Rescue Bot."

" A new one? What are they like? Is it a mech or femme? What's their name?"

The man's chuckle told Hope that he was used to the barrage of questions and she smiled a little in response. Then the context of their conversation hit her. From how they talked, they knew about Cybertronians. What an interesting development this was!

"Well, we can't disappoint them now can we?" she whispered quietly to herself.

Gathering the energies around her, she transformed into her dragon form. With a strong beat of her wings, she was airborne. The gasps were audible from inside the van as she alighted in front of it. Pausing long enough for them to get a good look, she winked and took off, disappearing once more into the clouds. 

While her father sat there in stunned silence, Francine aka as Frankie whipped out her phone and dialed a number.

"Uh Cody...we need to talk..."

Hope watched from the skies as the van roared towards the fire station. Dropping into a shallow dive, she followed along just high enough to stay out of sight. When they passed the old mill she pulled back and transformed into car mode mid flight, landing heavily on the road. 

"Primus! I really have to stop doing that."

Wincing a little, she continued on to a tunnel she remembered from her last visit. With a little luck, she should be able to sneak up on the rescue team and see who the new bot was before showing herself.

Following the tunnel, she stopped when she heard voices. Allowing her holoform to activate, she stepped quietly behind the Burns family. The young girl was whispering loudly to Cody and she focused her audials towards them. 

" I swear Cody. It was a dragon and it landed right in front of us!"

"A dragon? Dad, did Ms. Hope send a message saying that she was coming for a visit?"

"Who's Ms. Hope and what does she have to do with a dragon?"

Moving forward, Hope placed a hand on each of the youngsters shoulder's and grinned down at them.

"I'm Hope."

Cody laughed and grabbed her in a tight hug. Attracted by the noise, the other bots stopped talking and turned in their direction before hurrying over. Confused by the change in conversation, the new bot joined them. 

"I beg your pardon, but who are you?"

Noting  the femme's unsure body language, Hope smiled and looked up at her.

"I'm Hope Pax and it's a pleasure to meet you...?"

The femme quickly recovered and knelt down to Hope's level.
