🛑Mature Scenes Ahead

I spent most of the night tossing and turning, I guess the whole idea of Liam sleeping downstairs has me a little on edge.

When I woke up this morning I was greeted by the scene of my mom and Liam in the kitchen cooking breakfast together. There he was in all his morning glory, hair tossed upon his head wearing his low slung sweatpants and a plain white T-shirt standing over the stove flipping bacon while my mother stood by mixing her famous blueberry pancake batter.

I just stood there in the doorway watching him amazed at how comfortable he was in my home, more amazed by how much my mother was already in love with him. I decided not to interrupt the so-called cooking lesson my mother was giving and headed into the living room to watch some tv.

"Hey there peanut, how come your not in there cooking with the rest of them?" My dad asks when I walk into the living room, plopping down on the couch beside him.

"Eh, it looks like they have it all under control in there," I say resting my head on my dad's shoulder, I've missed being able to sit here like this with him no cares in the world just curled up with my daddy on the couch.

"So... just a friend?" He says looking at me questioningly.

"Yup, just a friend dad," I say .

He smiles at me and just like that he says no more. That's the thing about my dad he won't pester you on and on, and he always takes your word on what you say, he is by far the most honest man I know.

We all ate a hearty breakfast thanks to mom and Liam, of pancakes, bacon, potato hash and eggs. This is when my mom also came up with the brilliant idea (brilliant meaning I'm so not looking forward to this)that London and I take Liam out and show him our old stomping grounds tonight. But first, as tradition goes we spend the whole afternoon cooking up the side dishes for tomorrow's meal.

The day before Thanksgiving my whole family helped with the preparations whether it be cooking in the kitchen with mom, setting the table, or my dad's so-called job of getting his bar area fully stocked and ready.I was always in the kitchen helping while Seth was the one who would set the table.

So that is how we are spending our afternoon in the kitchen, even London is here helping out, and by helping out I mean making conversation and passing out ingredients, London is by far the worst cook ever.

"Honey, I'm going to have Liam come over there and help with the pies, put him to work on the apple pie" my mother winks at me, as Liam makes his way over wearing my dad's kiss the chef apron.

"So baker Montgomery where do we start?" Liam smirks as he stands so close to me our elbows touch. "Do I need to dip my hands in flour before we begin?" He says as he starts to submerge his hands into the flour pot.

"Stop! Whoever told you to dip your hands in flour?" I say as I start to giggle realizing he was very serious about it. "Here you slice the apples, in thin pieces like this," I say as I demonstrate the way to cut the apples. Liam grabs the knife from me as he makes very detailed cuts in the apples, while I go on and mix the wet ingredients.

"You want to come over and get your hands dirty Londy?"

"Are you crazy Sam, do you want to eat that pie tomorrow?" She asks in all seriousness.

"Awe you can't be that bad mate," Liam says looking over at Sam.

"Oh no she is that bad, but at least, you are here trying to learn even though you know nothing about cooking obviously."

"Hey! You remember that one night I tried to help you guys cook dinner, and I burnt the pasta so bad that your poor mom had to throw her pot away,it was beyond ruined." London says shaking her head, while Liam and I both look at each other before laughing out hysterically, even my mom begins to giggle remembering the dreadful dinner. "Stop the both of you, I didn't get nearly as much help as you are giving him."
