Once upon a time, before the Holy War, there was a goddess in heaven who was training to become the next supreme deity while in the demon realm there was a Commandment training to become the heir of the Demon King.
By chance, the pair met and it was love at first sight. The Demon Prince had something he finally wished to protect while the Goddess found hope and love within Prince, wishing to now bring peace to both the Goddess Clan and the Demon race.
They found allies in the giant and fairy races and began to slowly close the rift between the Demon and Goddess Clan, the goddess' friend, who was also in love with the goddess helped the couple.
Sadly, fate was not in their favor as the Holy War was heading towards the final battle the Goddess, her friend, and her lover, the Demon Prince went against their parents. The Demon King and the Supreme Deity were in disgust at seeing their heirs work together to end the conflict that had been going on for thousands of years before they appeared. The Supreme Deity and Demon King came together to fight against their children's stupidity and decided to curse the three.
The Demon King curse the goddess' friend with endless reincarnation, she will fall in love with the goddess over and over again only to die, over and over again. Whereas the Supreme Deity cursed the Demon Prince with immortality. For the goddess, both agreed the predicament was her fault, to begin with, and cursed her together. They both agreed the Goddess would be cursed to fall in love with the Demon Prince only to die by protecting her friend until the end of time. In addition, each time the goddess died she would forget her memories of that lifetime, similar to the goddess' friend.
The two cast the three down to Britannia where the curse would be in effect for the next 3,000 years until the two goddess search for a group called The Seven Deadly Sins.
