Alexander's POV:
So..you obviously don't know what the fuck is happening...let's rewind to a year ago...

*rewind*

I woke up to a soft, soothing hum, coming from the right of my ear. I turn to see John Laurens, my best friend, humming a little song we made up. The Story Of Tonight. I smiled at the half dressed, freckled boy, tying his curly locks. His humming soon turned into singing. "Raise a glass to freedom
Something they can never take away
No matter what they tell you
Raise a glass to the four of us..." John sang in the most beautiful singing voice ever. I sighed, at the wonderful sound. "Tomorrow there'll be more-" John paused staring at me. "Oh, uhh..G'Morning Alex!" John smiled brightly. John and I are currently sharing a room because my parents.. well...are dead and gone...and my adopted parents told me to find a place and be independent...yeah I ain't got no time to find my own place...

"Sorry If I woke you up with my singing..It's just, it's really nice out today!" John says as he finishes buttoning his shirt and opens the windows to let fresh air in. John breathes in the air and exhales deeply. "Today's gonna be amazing!" John yells into the New York City life. "SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Some guy from the apartment below yells. John frowns and quickly shuts the windows, cutting off the negativity. He returns to smiling. "I'm not sure why but today is already great!!" John giggles. I just sat there...confused. You wanna know why? Well...

John isn't normally like this...AT ALL.

Literally yesterday he had his hair in his face, wearing black hoodies and black sweaters, and wearing black nail polish...being the emo...25 year old he was.
But now he's wearing other colours (except black) sweaters, has clear nails, hair tied up...what's made him change??

Anyways, he was depressed and would never come out of the room...of course, when it came to his friends, he'd do anything for them. John hasn't been hiding the cuts on his arms very well. My best friends, Hercules, saw them and started to panic..cuz he loves John.. like, he's practically Hercules' son, and Lafayette was always baby-ing him which I could tell John hated.. And I...got blamed...because we share rooms and did nothing about it...
I did nothing about them because I didn't know he was doing it...because I usually put on my headphones, put on music and do work...aka writing a shit load of essays for my boss.

I kinda don't want to talk about it...It bring back painful memories that I don't want to relive...

John was the one who helped me through it..and I've tried my best to help him too

But John is happy now so...we all should be happy for him.

"Hey Alex? You okay?" John says as he waves his hand in front of my face. I blink and look at him. I never noticed how gorgeous his eyes are...and his little dimples when he smiles... wait what-
"Oh yeah I'm fine.." I respond.
"I sure hope so, cuz you're phone is going crazy and-" John gets cut off by a notification sound. I pick it up and see many texts and missed calls from my girlfriend.

"Oh shit...I better call her..." I told John. He nods and leaves the room.

I call my girlfriend and she picks up..

" Hey *mystery girlfriend's name* "
