With all troubles aside, let us celebrate the coming of age event of turning fourteen; specifically, in the house of Anov. A small family it is, only a few women and no men. All decisions are made by the mother and occasionally one of the children. Although, the other young girl typically strayed away from making decisions, as she felt the words she'd say were foolish.

A lover of all things old-fashioned, the young girl by the name of Ardevella Anov is a quiet fellow, with no specific desire than to live a happier and more interesting life: a life that would be the inspiration for many novels, movies, plays and such. She dreams of many scenarios and events, but she wonders when they will actually happen.

She bears many insecurities and wishes to overcome them, but they often get the best of her and eat all her hopes to the bone. Often comparing herself to others, she wishes for some special person to end all her sorrows. She wants someone to tell the world about, someone who is the embodiment of everything she has ever wanted (and she hopes whomever he is will feel the same way, too).

The ideal person for her, what a lovely concept it is. There would be only one perfect man to be with her throughout their lives. Someone with common interests as her and extremely similar taste in music. He will eradicate all darkness and sorrow from her life and hold her in his arms for all of eternity. Yes, such a love she wishes for, dear Ardevella.

Having such wishes is forbidden in the Anov household. If the young girl's mother were to find out about her wishes and dreams, there would come a long lecture and the the poor girl would be forced to change herself for her family and society. Sweet Ardevella knew she shouldn't dedicate her life to that special person, whomever he may be. She knew she had to care about herself but also wished to be with him to have a loving companion, to escape from cruel judgement and sorrow. That would be her wish.

However, for this special day, she sets all her problems aside and celebrates her fourteenth birthday as she should.
