A little before the girl's birthday, she decided to visit her truly old friend in a park. That old friend was someone she trusted, someone who she could tell everything to. The old friend who knew more about her than anyone else, even her close family. The old friend who supports her through anything and everything she does. The old friend to form a long-lasting friendship. A truly old friend he is.

But despite the difference, they were able to become close friends. The old friend was even able to be on good terms with the young girl's family. They were both very grateful for the non-judgmental atmosphere when they met. The old friend's remaining family was anything but negative, and filled the atmosphere with kindness. Both getting along well, the two became close friends.

"'Ello, Arde," the old friend greets. Ardevella sits next to him and smiles.

"Do you know what's coming up?" the young girl asks. The old friend smiles and nods.

"I've been counting the days, y'know!" he chuckles. "Y'must be excited."

"Indeed I am."

Young Arde couldn't imagine a life without her closest friend. He brings her so much positivity and love, and she strives to do the same.

"Well, what would y'like?"

Those words, those very words took the girl into a state of overthinking and indecisiveness. What did she want?

Aside from the things she mentioned before, she didn't have a desire for a physical gift like others would. She had no idea what she wanted.

"I really don't know," Arde replies to the question.

The old friend raises an eyebrow, "Well ye 'ave to want something, right?"

Ardevella shakes her head and smiles. Not only did she have a lack of preference, she thought it would save money for others. But she knew her dear friend was not easy to convince. The young girl sighs while smiling.

"I'm sure whatever you come up with will be fine," she says.

"Alright, if y'insist."

With that, the two embrace each other, grateful for their long-lasting friendship. They continue to talk about many things, whether it be regarding young Ardevella's birthday or how their week has been. Eventually, curious Arde asks her old friend, her truly old friend, a question.

"Al... what was it like when you were a kid?"

With that, old Al smiles and ruffles young Arde's head.

"Amazing, believe me. I know y'would've enjoyed it very much," he explains, "In fact, I think y'would enjoy it a lot more than y'life now."

"Oh, I bet," Arde laughs, "I bet."

It has always been sweet Ardevella's dream to live in the time of young Al. She knew of the good and the bad, but those bad things wouldn't faze her. They wouldn't in the first place. The young girl has always been a fan of the past, whether it be the fashion or the music, she adored everything and it was her biggest wish to experience everything. But she knew it could never happen for obvious reasons. Despite that, she continued to love and cherish the past as much as she could.

Young Arde and old Al spent even more time talking freely like best friends should. They really enjoyed each other's company, those two. Despite the obstacles, they became friends and would remain friends until the very end, full of devotion and loyalty.

The bright star and its flock of sheep would soon part ways with the blue field, making way for the white rock and its children. As it happened, sweet young Ardevella pulled old Al for a warm embrace and parted ways. Little Arde would go back to thinking about her birthday and big Al would think about her birthday gift, the perfect gift for his dearest friend.
