CHAPTER TWO

Thank you to everyone who have chosen this story. I will try might best to write better than the first chapter, I know the first chapter was a bit rushed and mixed up. But I promise you will enjoy this story.

CHAPTER TWO

Hugh and I made our way towards the prefects' compartments which was towards the end. I was not very keen on being a prefect because of the time it consumes. I'd rather read in a corner than walk around campus making sure everyone you doing everything by the rules.

We reached the compartment and I slide open the door and came face to face with non-other Black. His face was completely drained of any emotions, his Blue eyes were ice cold and highly guarded, most of the time that's how he is. I had not really noticed him when he was with his mother but now that he stood right in front of me I didn't have a choice but to breath in his scent which was Fresh and woody that was reminiscent of a crispy air along the British coast filled with oceanic depth and a note of rosemary which was nothing like the way he behaved., he was wearing black pant and coat with a dark blue shit on the inside.

A cough brought us both out of a stance non of us had noticed we had been in. Regulus black's eyes looked past me at the person who had coughed AKA Hugh. He stared at him a couple of moments and then he moves and makes a way for us to enter, which we do. And then I heard the door slide close which I assumed Black had closed on his way out.

"Bella, Hugh" I heard a silvery voice call out "Here, we saved you both seats." The redhead Gryffindor waved her hand furiously while the blonde pointed to the two empty seats next to her. We made our way there and I sat next to Marlene while Hugh too a seat next to me. Marlene now had a huge grin on her face as she sat across from Nick another fifth-year Gryffindor who was a prefect with her next to Nick was seating Remus with his face buried in a book called The Portrait of a lady, next to whom sat lily both of them 6th year Gryffindor prefects.

"Why do we have to share a compartment with those assholes!" Hugh mumbles gesturing towards the Slytherin prefects who sat towards the door, talking intently among themselves. "The bigger question I think would be why do we share a school with them?" Nick said a bit jokingly "To answer your question:" Lily says "You have no other choice."

We all laughed a bit.

***Soon after every perfect had gathered in the compartment, the door slide open and the head of all four houses entered with a clipboard in their hands. All four of them gave us instructions about everything that we will have to do. They handed out a meeting schedule that included different meetings like, meeting with the head boy or head girl, meeting with the head of which house etc. I was already tired just by looking at all the meetings.

"Okay, now I am going to announce the pairs that will patrol the corridors and which car they will patrol." Professor McGonagall said in her usual stern voice.

She started with the 7th years were given the Car 8 and Car 7. Then "Lily Evans and Eric Sinclair - Car 6 with Remus Lupin and Jessica Davis." She was paring Gryffindors with Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws with Slytherins to every Ravenclaw's annoyance. Car 6 and Car 5 were given to 6th years.

"Marlene Mckinnon and Jason Bones - Car 4 with Nick Richardson and Kelly Hart." Marlene left with a sad smile towards Hugh and I. "Annabella Potter and Regulus Black - Car 3 with Hugh Mckinnon and Erline Greengrass."

I walked to Car 3 with Hugh by my side as we both talked about the upcoming Quidditch tournaments.

Black and I patrolled silently, to my surprise, until it was time to get changed.
***I sat next to Ariana across from Varun who sat next to Hugh at the Ravenclaw table as the terrified looking first years entered the great hall with McGonagall. We all watched and clapped as each one got sorted. The Gryffindor's were the loudest to no ones surprise.

After everyone was sorted Dumbledore, although very old always gave an impression of great energy, walked up to the speech table and the owl in front of it opened its wings as he started to speak in his modulated voice "The very best of evenings to you!... Now... to our new students, welcome, to our old students, welcome back! Another year full of magical education awaits you... Now announcements that I think are best made before you become befuddled by our excellent feast... I am pleased to welcome our new Defence Against the Dark arts teacher, Professor Elisabeth Marwick." A golden-haired lady with a slender figure waved and stood up at the teacher's table. As everyone clapped excitedly.

"Let the feast begin"
