NERVOUSLY SHE TAPPED her finger against the wooden board as her blue orbs took in her surroundings. An awkward silence hung between Daphne and the other woman who still didn't introduce herself yet (saying that she can't remember anything and Daphne just left it at that). The redhead still couldn't shake off the weird feeling this convent gave her, even when it was a house of God, that something dark lurked in-depth of this building."So, what's the deal between your boyfriend and Rachel?"
Daphne blinked as she turned towards the dark female who watched her almost carefully, leaning casually against the wall. The redhead blinked confused as her mouth opened to reply. "I-," she started desperately finding the matched words to describe it. "He isn't-," she stumbled over her sentence again and saw how she raised an eyebrow in amusement.
"He isn't my boyfriend," Daphne repeated with a slight huff in the end. "And to be honest, I only met the guy so it's all weirding me out a little," she rambled on while her eyes jumped around the room.
The female tilted her head as her eyes ranked over Daphne again. "Why not, you're pretty."
The redhead could feel the warmth in her cheeks growing, eyebrows furrowed together as she opened her mouth. "Thanks, I guess," she mumbled, her fingers playing with her shirt she wore under her jacket. "You're pretty too." The stranger gave her an almost award-worthy smile, finger brushing through her wild magenta hair.
"Earlier, you said that Rachel is the key. For what exactly?" The woman shrugged, her fingers playing with a few rings she wore. "I've got amnesia, apparently," she answered not meeting the gaze that Daphne gave her. "Oh," was all the redhead could form in her mouth before the dark female cleared her throat. "If you excuse me, I have to use the restroom." Daphne couldn't even say something in return as the magenta haired woman walked down the corridor with confidence the redhead wished she had.
As suddenly the door at her right swung open, her blue orbs met the dark brown ones of Dick leaving no sign what he talked to Rachel about. The redhead was so caught up in her staring, she only noticed Sister Catherine as she stopped next to her. "She wants some privacy," Grayson told them and the sister just smiled.
Daphne threw her an unsure look. Not only did the convent gave her the creeps, but the sister here also. Especially Sister Catherine.
"God is with her," the sister replied with a smile on her face. "Of course," he told her forcing himself to give her a short smile. "When Rachel was here when she was little, were there any signs of any-," Dick started and Daphne could sense that he had some difficulty to describe what they had seen. Something was inside Rachel, there was no doubt about it, but the question was if she always had that kind of powers or if someone gave them to her. "Any what?" Sister Catherine asked with a tone that made Daphne shiver and the smile on her lips almost fully gone.
