Blaine headed down the stairs towards the commons, following the crowds. As he reached the bottom about to turn his attention was grabbed by a kid calling out to him.

"Excuse me." The kid said, and Blaine turned around towards him. "Um.. hi can I ask you a question? I'm- I'm new here." He added.

Blaine held out his hand as he smiled softly "My name's Blaine."

"Kurt." he responded as he reached out to shake Blaines hand with a smile, which Blaine returned.

"So what exactly is going on?" Kurt asked him, and Blaine didn't miss a beat before responding excitedly.

"The Warblers! Every now and then they throw an impromptu performance in the senior commons. It tends to shut the school down for a while." Blaine looked off down towards the commons before turning back at Kurt, smiling.

"So wait... The glee club here is kind of cool?" Kurt asked him

"The Warblers are like... rockstars." He said, smiling as he saw the suprised expression on Kurt's face. "Come on." Blaine said as he reached out to grab Kurt's hand. "I know a shortcut." It wasnt like him to grab a stranger's hand but it felt natural in the moment and he didn't think twice.

Blaine ran with Kurt through mostly empty halls, occasionally looking over to see Kurt checking out the school as they ran. Before long, they were heading through a back door into the commons, which was filled with lots of students.

"Ooh I stick our like a sore thumb." Kurt said as the two stopped in the doorway.

"Well next time don't forget your jacket, new kid" Blaine said as he reached out, adjusting part of Kurts shirt. "You'll fit right in." He added as he patted him on the shoulder and smiling before turning, putting his bag down, and looking back at Kurt.

"Now, if you will excuse me." Blaine said to him as the Warblers group behind him started the beat of the acapella song, before Blaine joined in, singing the lead to "Teenage Dream".

Blaine had realized rather quickly after meeting him that Kurt wasnt a new student, as, from Kurt's words himself, he stuck out like a sore thumb. His earlier mention of knowledge of glee club added to the suspicion he went to another school and was here to spy. But Blaine couldn't see any ounce of guile in his eyes when they met.

He talked to a few of the Warblers and they decided to have a talk with Kurt to figure out the real reason he was here, as the others agreed with Blaine that it didn't seem like he was there to spy. Blaine brought kurt to a table in the commons to chat with him, along with two of the other Warblers.

"Latte?" Blaine asked as he slid the coffee on the table towards Kurt, who mouthed a "Thank you" quietly as he accepted it.

"This is Wes, and David." Blaine said, looking at them as he said their names, before returning to Kurt.

"It's very civilized of you to invite me for coffee before you beat me up for spying." Kurt said and Blaine held back a laugh.

"We are not going to beat you up" David said, a soft laugh coming through as he spoke.

"You were such a terrible spy, we thought it was sort of... endearing." Wes added, before blaine chimed in.

"Which made me think that spying on us wasn't really the reason you came." Blaine said, but as he waited for Kurt's response he noticed his stammering.

"Can I ask you guys a question." Kurt asked them and Blaine nodded. "Ah-Are you guys all gay?"

This immediately promoting Blaine to laugh, and the other two laughed as well. "U...uh no." Blaine managed to get out as he stopped laughing. "I mean I am, but these two have girlfriends." Blaine smiled as he responded.

"This is not a gay school. We just have a zero tolerance harassment policy." Wes said.

"Everybody gets treated the same, no matter what they are. It's pretty simple." David added, and Blaine watched Kurt's reaction. He noticed his eyes flutter as if he was trying not to cry and he lowered his head slightly.

"Would you guys excuse us?" Blaine asked the David and Wes, figuring Kurt might be more comfortable if it was just the two of them.

"Take it easy Kurt." David said as the two of them got up to leave.

"I take it you're having trouble at school." Blaine said after the two had walked away.

"I'm the only person out of the closet at my school." Kurt replied, Blaine noticing his voice cracking as he spoke, and a tear fell from his eye before he continued.

"And I-I I try to be strong about it but... there's this neanderthal who's made it his mission to make my life a living hell. And nobody seems to notice."

"I know how you feel. I got taunted at my old school and it really... pissed me off. I even complained about it to the faculty, and they were sympathetic and all, but you could just tell that nobody really cared. It was like 'Hey if you're gay your life's just going to be miserable. Sorry. Nothing we can do about it.'" Blaine paused for a moment before continuing.

"So I left, and I came here. Simple as that. So you have two options. I mean, I'd love to tell you to just come enroll here, but tuition at Dalton's sort of steep and I know that's not an option for everybody. Or... you can refuse to be the victim. Prejudice is just ignorance, Kurt, and you have a chance right now to teach him."

"How?" Kurt asked him, still emotional.

"Confront him. Call him out. I ran, Kurt. I didn't stand up. I let bullies chase me away, and it's something that I really, really regret."

Even though Blaine had just met him, the two of them already felt comfortable around eachother, or atleast Blaine felt that way. He really understood where Kurt's pain was coming from and wanted to give him a chance to do something he never had the strength to do, to stand up for himself.

"Here, give me your phone." Blaine said, breaking the silence, and Kurt slid his phone across the table to him. He opened up the contacts and added himself in, taking a photo of himself making a silly face for the contact, causing Kurt to laugh. Blaine saved it and sent himself a text so he would have Kurt's number too, before handing him back his phone.

"If you need someone to talk to, I'm here. Text me anytime you need to." Blaine smiled, and Kurt did as well.

The bell rang above them and Kurt looked up, making Blaine laugh softly to himself. "Well I should be in class, and considering your school is pretty far away I'm going to assume your skipping."

Kurt nodded and Blaine continued. "Care to join me in my classes? It will give you a chance to check out Dalton, and the teachers won't mind."

Kurt smiled as he responded. "Sounds like fun."

As he said it the two got up, Kurt following Blaine as they headed off down the halls together.

Hey guys! I hope this chapter gives you a good feel for how I plan to write. As you can see, I'm adding on to the original story to account for gaps and my own changes I make. But for stuff like this I like keeping dialogue exact so it gives you the feels lol. The 'mature' stuff, other then cursing, won't be in here until way later, but no spoilers! See ya guys next chapter!   ~Sami
