Chapter FOUR

Jack's POV

It took so much strength to get off Lauren to answer the door. I open it and Jack is standing there with his arms folded.

"What?" I waited for his response.

"The pizza's here," he said.

"Umm...okay? What's that have to do with me?"

"It's down in the lobby-"

"Near a bunch of die-hard fans," Sammy chimed in, gulping the rest of his soda.

"The front desk said there's like 35 girls downstairs," Johnson added.

"Again, what does this have to do with me?"

"It doesn't," Johnson smiled. "It has to do with your girlfriend. Can you go down and get it, L? Pretty please? I've got serious munchies."

I looked back at Lauren and she rolled her eyes. "Only because I love you guys." She gets up and walks toward us, taking the cash out of Jack's hand.

Lauren's POV

The next day, I had Jack all to myself. We had breakfast at a French bakery & stopped by Express so that he could get a new belt. We then visited the Statue of Liberty in which, on the ferryboat that took us there, we reenacted Jack & Rose from Titanic at the front of the boat. Then I dragged him to the MoMA and he ended up liking the exhibits anyway. 

The boys all had to be back and on the bus by 8 PM. We were back by 6 and just held each other on the bus until it was time. Reality didn't set in until we were there & alone on the bus. He smelled so good and I cried a little in his arms knowing he still had another month to go.

Matt had attempted to cheer me up on the plane ride home but it wasn't working. I appreciate his efforts, though. I could never regret meeting him, regardless of his newfound fame. He's the love of my life, perhaps he's my one great love, at least I like to think so. 

The next month was filled with video chatting and I got so excited as the tour was ending right here in Cali. This time, I got to watch the show from the sidelines with Matt, Nash, Hayes, & Mahogany and it was amazing. The boys have such an amazing stage presence. I took the biggest sigh of relief when they finished their last song and along with Shawn & Sammy, they took a collective bow. The girls were screaming and it was a resounding pain in my ass. I don't know how the boys did that for 2 months.

After the final meet & greet, their manager Christian held an after-party at a fancy penthouse rental. Some of the crew from the tour came and he had invited a bunch of people I had never even heard of, except Kylie Jenner. Apparently she's a fan of the guys and she brought along all of her friends.  

While Jack gets us drinks, I nudge Christian. "Who are those girls with Kylie?"

"Uhh," he squints his eyes to see. "Well the blonde one is Anastasia, then that's Telana, and the one with the gorgeous voluptuous one is Jordyn. Close friends of hers." He sips on his drink and bobs his head to the music.

I couldn't help but notice Anastasia scoping the room and her eyes landing on Jack at the snack table. She leaves her pack, who were all rather immersed in their phones, to walk up to him. I watch as she touches his shoulder and says some things I can't figure out. I suck at lip reading unless it's I-love-you. Maybe I was a little jealous of her. She looked like a supermodel and had flawless hair. So, insecure me decided to approach them and interrupt their little meeting.

"Hey." I slid next to him. "Did you...get my drink?"

"Oh! Yeah, here. Sorry, I got hungry." He hands me my drink he had sitting on the table. "Lauren, this is Anastasia. Anastasia, this is Lauren."

I smile and nod & she does the same. I wanted to make it known that I was his girlfriend but I know the rule about letting people know about our private lives, especially with his newfound bit of fame.

"You can call me Stassie or just Stass. Are you two..." she trails off, pointing at both of us. Jack nods and I'm shocked. Stassie shrugs her shoulders and looks Jack up and down. "That's cute. See you around."

Did she just...

Now I may be fluent in the art of bitch and she was totally being one, but Jack didn't see it. Men usually never do.

I locked my arm with Jack's and stayed by his side the entire night. Kylie chatted it up with Sammy and they kept fistbumping each other for some reason. I spotted Matt moving a bit to the music all while eating a cheeseburger. Shawn & Mahogany sang along with every song that played. And Johnson was getting a taste of the DJ experience, helping decide which tracks should be played next. 

Anxiety set in when I kept noticing Stassie, Jordyn, & Telana talking amongst themselves and occasionally glancing at Jack and I. Jordyn kept cracking jokes and laughing while looking at me. It made me feel the utmost uncomfortable. I wanted to leave but this was Jack's night and I didn't want to ruin it.

To make matters worse, Christian walks up to us as we were eating, bringing another girl who was pretty enough to make me feel like a potato.

"Guys, this is Madison Beer. Justin Bieber's artist I was telling you about. Madison, this is Jack Gilinsky & his friend Lauren."

Friend. I was unsure if Christian was being a dick on purpose or he was really that oblivious. But I'm sure if Madison was looking, she would've noticed us holding hands.

"Nice to meet you," she said, kissing us both on the cheek. She was gorgeous and I was feeling insecure again. She had big & bright eyes, a glossy pink pout, & hair that looked like every strand didn't intersect.

"Alright come on, I want you to meet the other half of Jack & Jack." Christian whisked her away toward where Johnson was.

"Babe," I said, making him jump a little.

"Hmm? I don't know," he said oddly.

"What do you mean you don't know? I didn't ask you anything."

"You didn't? Sorry, I must be tired."

I side-eyed him and downed my drink.

"Easy, easy," he warned. "When I carry you to bed tonight, I want you to be conscious." He winked and kissed me.

"Party's here!" We hear a voice shout from the front door. When we glance over, we see it's none other than a very dapper Cameron Dallas.

Author's Note: Short chapter than usual but I promise craziness is soon to follow. Also wanted to make note that I unpublished my other works for now. There's another Gilinsky fanfic I wanted to write badly.
