A Change of Heart
Dio knew what his goal in life was. He may have been young but he has everything planned out. He wants to become successful, and he'd do anything to obtain that goal.
(Y/n) on the other hand didn't know what she wanted to do. She knew she wanted to find a true romance but thought she would never find anyone. So instead she focused on her studies. She may have grew up in a rich family, but she wanted to do something with her life.
Dio stood at his father's grave, glaring at it. He absolutely despised his father. Soon though, he would be able to gain the fortune he so needed. He was now adopted by Mr. Joestar meaning all he had to do was get rid of his only son.
Johnathan walked towards his house after getting beaten up by two awful boys. Next to him stood (y/n), his best friend. She was nearly in tears because she hated seeing her friends hurt. Once they got close to the house they saw a carriage arrive.
"Oh are you having company Johnathan?" She asked, wondering if she should leave.
"Ah yes, my father has adopted a boy who's father saved our lives. Recently his father died so my dad decided to take him in," Johnathan explained to the girl.
Before the conversation could continue the carriage door busted open, and a boy with blonde hair jumped out of it with grace. He looked towards the pair of teens, his stare on them judgemental.
That was the beginning of something terrible.
It was like Dio's existence was just to ruin Johnathan's life. First Johnathan lost all of his friends (-(y/n) and Erina), then Dio took Erina's first kiss. Which pushed Johnathan over the edge.
After hearing from Johnathan that he and Dio got into a fight, she decided to confront Dio. Don't get me wrong she's a shy girl, but when it came to someone hurting her friends she would gain confidence to stand up.
That brought her to her current scenario. Dio was glaring at the female in his presence, thinking on why she approached him and how he could get her to leave.
"Excuse me, Dio-" (y/n) started, getting cut off by said male.
"You're excused," Dio said, wanting to go back to reading. (Y/n) felt offended and crossed her arms pouting, a small 'hmph' leaving her lips. Dio glanced up at the noise and a light pink decorated his cheeks at the sight. He felt confused at the feelings running through his body. He never felt this way before, and he didn't like it. He wanted it to go away, he somehow knew it would mess with his plans.
"Dio why are you so rude to Johnathan?" (Y/n) said, a small glare on her features. For some reason Dio felt his heart clench at the name of his brother. He didn't want her to care for him, but he knew if he made this one of his goals it would be hard to achieve. The girl that stood before him had a heart of gold and would never betray her friends, no matter what.
"That's none of your business," Dio replied. A frown crossed over the (l/c) lips of the (h/c) haired girl.
"Did he do something to you? But that wouldn't make sense because you acted this why from the very first moment," (y/n) said trying to reason it out in her mind. At this Dio stayed silent, should he lie to her? But the thought of her hurt face of she found out it was a lie crossed his mind making him frown. NO! Why was he thinking like this? Why did he care about what one puny little girl thought about him?
Yet, he didn't see her as puny or little. She looked like a beautiful, strong young woman. He didn't want to tell her his true intentions, for she would surely hate him more.
(Y/n) watched his behavior. She could tell he was thinking deeply and not just ignoring her. The way his brows furrowed proved it. Yet this made her happy, perhaps she'll get a real answer. Maybe he was just nervous to tell her? What if she could become his friend and show him the right way? A sudden smile appeared on her face at the thought, her whole being seeming to radiate a positive, hopeful, and ambitious energy.
"You can tell me anything you know. I won't tell a soul I promise!" The (e/c) eyed beauty smiled brightly startling Dio out of his thoughts. He then noticed the change in her, she seemed so warm now and not as cold as before. "I hold trust in high regard and don't take this kind of stuff lightly," she continued trying to get him to open up.
She then went to sit next to him. He closed his book with a sigh, rubbing his temples. "You won't leave me be huh you little pest," Dio said, trying to hide his true feelings that he didn't understand. He didn't want to show you, or anyone weakness so he resulted to insults.
On the other hand (y/n) could feel there was no malice in his words towards her, yet she couldn't help feel like her heart was pierced. She was hurt, but hid it well.
"You know what!" She started, wanting to annoy him for some reason. "I will follow you for as long as it takes to get you to tell me your reasons."
Dio stood up and looked towards the sky, trying to hide his flushed cheeks from her. The thought of (y/n) following him around didn't seem so bad, but he wasn't gonna let anyone know that.
The next day (y/n) came to the Joestar manor, and was greeted by Johnathan.
"(Y/n)!" He exclaimed, his smile stretching to his ears, happy to see his best friend. "How was that meeting with Dio? He didn't hurt you did he? Did he touch you inappropriately?" Johnathan asked, his worry obvious.
"No he didn't do anything, but he didn't tell me anything either," the girl pouted at the thought of the stubborn boy. "I think I'm getting to him though!" She exclaimed with a bright smile, feeling giddy at the thought of Dio opening up to her.
(Y/n) didn't think anything of her being happy about being befriended by Dio. She thought it was due to her morals and didn't think twice. Maybe she should've.
"What's this racket Johnathan? Could you be more quiet I'm trying to read," Dio said, standing at the top of the stairs. He couldn't see (y/n) because Johnathan's body was blocking any view of (y/n). I mean Johnathan is a big boy.
"Dio!" The young girl exclaimed revealing herself. Dio's eyes widened at the sight, then he quickly glared at Johnathan who was too close to her for his comfort.
Dio rolled his eyes before saying "Be more quiet." Yet all (y/n) did was run up the stairs to Dio.
"Did you forgot what I said yesterday Dio?" (Y/n) asked with a sly smirk. "You're not getting rid of me that easily."
Johnathan was confused. Plus he felt concerned for his friend. Did Dio do something? Why was she being so friendly to someone who was so rude? Did he lose his best friend to Dio?
This happened for a couple months. (Y/n) would follow Dio around like a lost puppy. She would try to start conversations with him which would only lead him to insult her. Yet slowly the conversations would get longer and Dio unconsciously started to open up to her.
Dio may not have noticed but (y/n) sure did. His insults became less and less, and they weren't as harsh. He told her things about himself, it may have been small things, but she knew that means she made progress.
What she didn't know was that Dio would threaten Johnathan. He told him that if he so much as looked at you wrong that he wouldn't hesitate to hurt him. (Y/n) also didn't notice how she wasn't hanging out with Johnathan as much. What he didn't know was that (y/n) was planning something big.
