BACK AT THE MALL, Dustin and Steve tried to understand the Russian recording as they hung out in Scoops Ahoy's backroom.

At some point during the thousand time they had played the stupid tape, the younger boy noticed as his friend kept checking his watch, as if waiting for something to happen. Clicking the button to make the recording stop, an annoyed look was thrown Steve's way, making him stop the chewing of the third banana he had eaten within the past 20 minutes.

Not bothering to swallow the contents of his mouth, the sailor looked right back at the boy wondering the reason behind his change of expression.

"What?" With a disgusted face, Dustin pointed a finger to the tape player that Steve had apparently been ignoring. "Why are you checking the time? We're translating Russian, Steve. Focus on the tape!". Dustin continued his rant, cutting Steve's attempt at answering short, "It's not like the president is waiting for you by the food court, she's always late anyways!"

Words slipped out of his mouth, as he tried to make up an excuse to Dustin's very true and obvious observation.

"First off all, Evelyn is way more relevant than Reagan, that guy looks like he likes raisin ice cream" The younger boy stood analyzing what the brunette had just said, wondering what goes on inside his head. "And I haven't seen her all day, yesterday she sounded tired. Is there something wrong with me worrying about my girlfriend, who also happens to be your sister?"

Standing up from the chair he had been sitting on, Dustin rested both his hands on the table and moved his eyes to the boy standing in front of him. He scoffed, as a whisper-like voice with a very clear sarcastic tone left his lips.

"No. Very. Very chivalrous of you to do that. But, umm... Have you forgot about the Russians trying to invade our country?! 'Cause you know, if that's so, maybe you should go get me an Orange Julius--" Giving the teen a pointed look, Steve threw the banana peel towards the trash can, failing miserably, as they both watched it cringely fall a couple of inches away from it. "I'm trying to listen to the Russian, but the music sounds familiar."

A dramatic eye roll took over Dustin's face, not really believing the nineteen year-old.

"What music? Why are you listening to the music, Steve? Listen to the Russian! Again, we are translating RUSSIAN!" "I'm trying to listen to the goddamn russian! But there's music--". Both their voices were interrupted by a third person joining in their little disscusion.

"All right, babysitting time is over. You need to get in there" Robin's sudden entrance, made both boys freeze by surprise, they stood there as if a bomb was about to explode. With a turn of her head, Robin gestured heatedly to the quadrant she had been working on for the past few hours, seeing all her vital information replaced with weird symbols that kind of resembled some type of alphabet.

"Hey, my board! That was important data, shitbirds."

Giving her a really look, Dustin tried not to give away any of the there's Russians planning to attack us storyline "I guarantee you, what we're doing is way more important than your data." Steve stood next to the now sitting teen, agreeing with everything he was saying.

"Yeah? And how do you know these Russians are up to no good anyways?" Steve and Dustin shared a shocked look, "How does she know about the Russians?". The teen turned back to question the older boy next to him. "I don't know," they continue to ramble "You told her abo-" " It wasn't me". An obvious expression formed on Robin's face, as she wondered how could two people share one brain cell. Feeling a it had been enough of their bickering, the girl decided to answer their stupid questions.

"Hello, I can hear you. Actually I can hear everything. You are both extremely loud." Both boys kept quiet sataring at Robin as she spoke, amazed by the outcome of the situation. "You think you have evil Russians plotting against our country, on tape, and you're trying to translate, but you haven't figured out a word because you didn't realize Russians use an entirely different alphabet than we do."

As they glanced at each other, Dustin and Steve processed her words, words that made them aware of how little progress they had made in the past half and hour. "Sound about right?" .With the intention of trying to defend their honor, the long-haired boy went to speak, but got interrupted by Robin, who still had a couple of things to say.

"Oh and by the way, I have no idea how you got a girl like Evelyn Henderson to date you Harrington, she is way out of your league." When a chuckle escaped Dustin's lips, Steve raised his hands in exasperation, not expecting a stab to the back from him.

Ever since he had realized he was in love with her, Steve had always thought that Evelyn and him would end up getting married, having kids and living the happily ever after they deserved. But deep within him, there was a part of his heart that didn't want to hold her back from experiencing a life full of love, and adventures that she might not get if she stayed with him.

Not getting into college was a big downer for him, as he expected to get into the same college as his girlfriend. But despite the ruined plans, they made the decision to stay together and try to maintain their relationship, even if she was only a couple of hours away.

So, he would tell himself he would be fine if they broke up, that he would keep on with his life, but if he was being honest, he knew the harsh reality.

Robin reached for the tape player, breaking Steve out of his daydreaming trance "Whoa! What do you think you're doing? "Steve grabbed the gadget before she could, almost tripping while doing so. "I want to hear it" "Why?" both boys questioned simmultanesly, "Cause maybe I can help. I'm fluent in four lenguages, you know". Robin was set in participating in whatever they hell it was they were doing, but Dustin seemed hesitant about it. "Russian?" at this, the girl spoke what seemed Russian to them, very impressed, they stared at her bewildered "That was Pig Latin, dingus".
