"You did great today Tanaka" I gave a thumbs up "ya know it!" He exclaimed as he flashed the biggest grin ever. I go back to sitting on a bench twiddling my thumbs thinking on how I'll tell Tanaka the words my father told me.
"You did well at practice today" I say as I hold on to his hand "thanks but I mean you do have the most talented boyfriend ever" I playfully smack him in the arm "Baka," I say looking at our hands intertwined. "You wanna go get some food I'm starving" Tanaka groans "okay since you gave it your all at practice" I laughed knowing I was teasing. "Yōkoso (welcome)" the ringing of the bell filled my ears" Arigatōgozaimashita (thank you)" we sat down at our favorite table "Damn it I can't," I thought.
"Hey (Y/n) you okay you seem really deep in thought" he gives me the softest look ever "yeah yeah umm actually Tanaka-" as his name slipped from my lips he gave me his full attention "oh never mind it nothing". The food arrived "(y/n) I know maybe it's too early to say this but I love you" I was slowly feeling terrible that I didn't even notice my tears that were flooding the restaurant. "I'm sorry, I love you too... but" his blush and smile faded away "my dad is forcing me to go study in the United States for a year, I love you Tanaka but I guess after this you wouldn't want to do distance and I get it and I'm so so sorry". His look after that is now engraved in memory "I will do long distance, I can't give up on what we have are you crazy! (Y/n) you are the best girlfriend I could ask for! You support me on anything/ everything, you love me for me and that's all I've ever wanted, so don't quit on us just because you won't be here". I hugged him and he walked me home "Tanaka thank you for the most beautiful 10 months ever, I know I shouldn't be saying goodbye but promise me you'll wait for me...please". His lips locked to mine, and as we brake off the two words I wanted to hear escaped his mouth "I promise"...
— A week later • At the airport —
I packed everything in my suitcase my heart aching and my head still hurting from crying so much last night. "I'll miss you sweetheart" I hug my dad and mom "I'll miss you guys to but just you wait I'll be back from the U.S knowing some good English," I say trying to make a menace with my dad before I left. I walk into the airport and as I was about to walk off "(Y/n)! Hey! You think I would let you leave without me seeing you one last time". "Tanaka-" and just like that, I was cut off by Tanaka's lips pressed against mine.

"Don't say goodbye okay cause I'll be waiting" I smiled trying to prevent tears from falling. "Okay, I'll see you soon.. Ryūnosuke Tanaka" as I walked off my eyes filled with tears and my body felt weaker and weaker.
