The child in me

I was a child,

and then unknowingly,

the fine lines carved itself everywhere.

In a blink of an eye, I was stripped of my youth

and in it's place stood the hardships of an adult.

The branding iron seared into my flesh to mark me as cursed,

because after that day

I slowly withered away

and I was just one breath from dying.
