Sunset is just outside the school with her journal near her statue. She was waiting for Princess Twilight to gibe her a message but no replied back. She just sigh and was about to go back in but he saw Dark just came out of school. Once Dark saw her and she saw him, they just glare to each other. Their eyes are glue to each other and not even bother to move. That's where their flashback appear at the same time in their heads;

"Darkie!!!" Sunset shouted before she felt arms around her. "Don't worry, love. I won't leave..." the black hedgehog respond before their lips touch. It was there 1st very special Anniversary and they already have a plan by spending the whole day together form day until night. No one can ever keep them apart. Mostly when they love each other and swear to take the bullet for each other.
They met at school of course, but they didn't fell in love because at first sight. They met at the science class during an experiment. Rouge was sabotaging her experiment with Maria so she could have 'fun'. The bat girl always ruin the student's day by sabotaging their works. When Shadow saw what was happening, he quickly cover Maria but Sunset didn't see this coming and panic since no one will cover her.
"Everyone!!! Out of the room!!! Now!!!" Sr. Espio announce while everyone start running. Shadow can't leave the room because he wasn't feeling well that time. He was too weak so the only thing he can do is to both of them hide under the table. Sunset was about to leave, but her leg got stuck at one the student's chairs. "Sunset!!!" Maria shouted before Shadow cover the girl. Sunset gasp in fear and the experiment explode.
The students outside the room gasp in horror. But Sunset wasn't harm at all. She felt nothing painful "What?!? I'm the girl who is the nearest in the explosion... how am I not injured or harm?.." she thought but she soon gasp in horror when she saw Dark shield her. The hedgehog was now cover in bruises and broken glass. He groaned before he pass out. Shadow and Maria gasp in shock. Including the students. The teacher quickly call the ambulance and bring Dark to the nearest hospital.
Once he was awake, Sunset quickly greet him and apologize. "I'm sorry for the explosion. Because of me, you got hurt..." "Nah, I'm fine. I'm used to saving everyone, but I never knew you will come all the way here just to apolofize..." he jokingly said. "It's the least I could do to say thank you and sorry. I'm Sunset Shimmer btw and I brought some apples for you from my friend's farm!!! She said that it's fresh!!!" she said before they start talking. Then both of them realize that they have a spark once their eyes met.
Another day came and their sparks grew larger everytime they are together. He and she are always partner in science, music, magic and more. They didn't mind and kinda like being together the whole day...
This goes on and on everyday until Dark can't take his feelings and confessed to the girl. She was surprise and confess that she love him back too. Though, they sometimes fight but not that serious. Just about clothes and food. They are the happiest couple in Emerald City. Until one day, they relationship didn't last long...
Dark was walking to school while holding a bouquet of flowers for his girlfriend until a pink hedgehog named Amy start seducing him. She push him the lockers and start kissing him. "Come on, Sonic!!! I know you love me!!!" she said with a seductive tone and start kissing the wrong hedgehog. "Hey, let me go!!! I'm not Sonic, you bitch!!!" he struggle as he keep pushing her away until someone shout behind them. "I hate you Dark!!! We are over!!! " He quickly push Amy harder than before as he heard Sunset's voice. She run out of the hall while Dark follow her, leaving the flowers he bought and Amy at the ground.
Since that day, Dark keep trying his best to make up for his mistake and try to explain even it wasn't his fault but Sunset didn't listen. The girls know that he was telling the truth and try to explain it to Sunset too , but she just push them away. Until she snapped out of it and turned into a demon once she got near the statue...
"Hey, let me go!!! Sunset, this isn't you!!! Please let me go!!!" a female hedgehog that look like Light but blue bell eyes scream in fear while Sunset's demon form holding her.
"Sunset, drop my step sister or else!!!" "Or else what?!? You will pay for breaking my heart!!! And her life is enough!!!" she said as she grabbed her collar tighter. "S-Sis!!!" Light shout in horror while tears continue falling in his eyes. "Light, help m-me!!!" Silver and Shadow are holding him back just in case Sunset attack even it was hard to stop him. "It's your fault why this happen to me, cheater!!!" she scream in anger before she stabbed her straight. She gasp as she look to Light who had his eyes widened in fear and horror. "B-Brother...p-please...f-forgive me..." she said as she crack a sad smile before she took her last breath and drop her ring in the ground.
The ring she always wore since Light and Dark give it to her in her 14th birthday... even it's simple, she always wear it since they made it together...
(This is what she is now looks like when her soul escaped her dead body).

"L-Light..." her sister whisper in fear as she saw Light turned dark... It was rare for Light to use his dark form... "You'll pay for that, you monster!!!" he said before he escaped from Silver and Shadow's grip and attack Sunset's demon using Chaos Blast all the time. Dark was surprise at the scene he saw. He can't believe that the girl she love kill her only step-sister... "I will show you the true power of chaos!!!" the furious hedgehog shout at her in rage before she finish her demon.
From that day on, Sunset tried to change to be a better person but her and Dark's relationship is over after what happen to his step-sister... Light hide his pain by smiling everyday at school even students start using him. Starline let her tears fall everyday when she saw her brother getting beat up by his bullies...
~End of Flashback~
Both of them scoff before they left in sight. When she do that everyday, she keeps getting hurt while Dark felt nothing to her like before. He felt hatred towards her... Mostly his stress step brother... Light is trying to do everything he can to not give up since Starline watching him everyday even she knew she can't stay with him that long...
Dark went to class, which means science... he begged the teacher to change his partner and both of them agree... once the whole class was listening for the science teacher, he glance beside him and saw Light studying... "Goodmorning, Light. Your early..." he spoke but Light quickly fired a rude impression "Well your late... Also, stop bothering me. I'm busy...". "Are you still angry at me because of what happen-" hhe was cut off by Light growl at him and yell at him in a whisper "Just shut up!!! I said I'm busy!!!"
Yup, he is still mad at me..., he thought as he roll his eyes, but he suddenly spotted a ring on Light's right wrist. That's Starline's ring... is he still... not over with it?... he thought once again as he felt bad for his brother... he thought that he already move on...
Meanwhile, Sunset went to the library to clear her head, but she can't stand the guilt rushing her after what she did... She didn't mean to kill her, but she knew what she was doing... She could've stop herself since she is in control but she stabbed her instead of freeing her from her large grip.
