Song: Billie Eilish - bored.
Imagine; Finn wakes up because you're having a nightmare.
•
It's in the middle of the night when it happens again, another nightmare of the past comes creeping into your mind.
You're squirming and thrashing around in your bed, and even though you're not making any sounds with your mouth, it's still a lot of noise coming from one person.
It's so loud that it wakes up Finn, who's usually a very heavy sleeper, there could be an attack and he wouldn't even wake up until someone is shooting at him.
He at first is confused, he can't think of what might have woke him up, but when he hears the whimpers coming from your mouth, he finally understands you're having a nightmare.
He jumps out of his own bed and rushes over to yours, sitting down next to your body while trying to avoid your arms hitting him.
'Y/n...wake up...'
'No please...stop...I can't... I can't take it anymore!' You yell.
'Y/n!, wake up!, it's not real!' Finn comments sternly and when he grabs your wrists your eyes shoot open.
You go into what you two call it "machine mode", it's some kind of reflex, like fight or flight, only it's kill with you two.
That was part of the programme you and Finn were in, its a programme to train stormtroopers and make them better fighters. When you escaped together, that part of the programme remained while the rest went away like snow under the sun.
'Hey hey... it's me....' he calmly speaks as your eyes dart around the room looking for possible threats.
'They were...they were hurting me...and I.. i... I couldn't get away....'
'Shhh...it's okay....just a bad dream...' he says and you nod as you rub your eyes for a moment.
'I'm sorry I woke you up...' you apologise.
'I'm impressed that you did to be honest with you...' he jokes and you smile.
'Can you tell me...what was happening in that nightmare?, some say talking about it might help..' Finn suggests.
You look down at your fiddling hands as you're debating wether or not you're going to share the story with him, but you end up doing it anyway.
'They had me tied to a chair, they were trying to brainwash me... it was more of a memory than a nightmare...'
'You're safe now, try to remember that, repeat it everyday if you have to...I do that and it helps, most of the time...'
'You do?' You ask him full of disbelief,
He has to be one of the strongest and bravest people that you know, why would he have to repeat to himself that he is safe every day?
He nods and you look up. You now notice his face is inches from yours, and the sun is also slowly coming up again outside.
'I.. I should go back to my own-'
'No...please... please stay...' you grab his wrist and he turns his head to you again.
He slowly sits down on the bed again and you love so he has some space.
He lies down and you lay down with him, he slowly creeps his arm around you and you close your eyes.
He understands better than anyone, and perhaps, he can get some well needed sleep too.
