Fen POV
I... Kissed him... And he kissed me back? Our lips touch a few seconds more before slowly parting. I have this weird bubbly feeling in my stomach as I look up at him. I want so desperately to say something cool, or do something to come across as sexy or even just moderately attractive.
Instead I blush furiously and quickly look away. Thankfully, he does the same thing. It's very ackward. Finally, Baldwin breaks the akward pause by handing me the ice.
"Umm... I-its not exactly broken but here... Umm.... Ya know... because of the whole breaking the ice pick up line... thing? ... Ummm... Okay, I'll shut up now. "
"Wait, are you hitting on me?"
Baldwin looks decidedly more akward than usual when he answers. "Umm.. yeah... I mean we kissed, and it was getting akward. So, naturally I fucked it up even more."
I can't help but grin stupidly at him. This dork! This lovable, cute, sweet, obnoxious dork! Why the fuck does he have this effect on me! I actually start to laugh. Out loud. Fuck.
Baldwin-- taking this the wrong way-- gets a hurt expression on his face and starts to leave. FUCK. I get up to follow him.
"Wait, Baldwin... Just listen." I catch up and grab his arm. He jerks his arm away and whirls around to face me.
"I know I'm not suave or cool or whatever you want to call it and I'm certainly not good at flirting or knowing what the hell to do when a cute guy who I've had a crush on for gods know how long kisses me, FYI that was my first kiss, and I'm not about to stick around after if you're just going to just laugh in my face after and hones-MMPH!"
I kiss him again, a little deeper than before. Baldwin hesitates for only a second before he kisses back, cupping my face in his hands. This time the kiss lasts longer and only ends once we're both completely out of breath. Thank the gods his parents aren't here.
We break apart and the silence that follows is not quite as acward as before. That's something, I guess.
