It was his job to worry about her, but Kakashi found that lately he may have been worrying too much. Sakura had told him how unhealthy (Y/n) had looked ever since the war. He didn't think much of it, he was the same way after he thought he lost Obito and Rin's death. He didn't feel like himself years after the third war and that was normal... but not really, was it? Kakashi realizes that his student had been alone most of her life believing that all her blood-related family was dead, killed by the person she saw as a brother-figure. It had no doubt been a confusing time for her, and (Y/n) wasn't your usual Uchiha, either. She felt more openly, her emotions weren't as easily hidden as Sasuke's. She was Obito's little sister, and in that regard she was a lot like her.
Something traumatic had happened between (Y/n) and Sasuke while she was trying to egg Karin and Suigetsu away from him before he joined them for the war. Jugo, from what (Y/n) told Kakashi, was hopeless. He was dedicated to the male Uchiha, and he wouldn't budge his loyalty. The gray-haired sensei hadn't payed much attention to that while they were fighting the war. (Y/n) and Sasuke showed up side by side, however, (Y/n) had a distraught expression on her face as Sasuke kept her by his side. She looked terrified and as her teacher Kakashi had a need to see her comfortable. He did his best to keep (Y/n) away from Sasuke the rest of the time they were fighting, but that also meant keeping a close eye on their enemies. Obito wouldn't touch (Y/n), but Madara had no problem with trying to kill her.
They hadn't seen (Y/n) in about two months, she had apparently been taken hostage by Kabuto, only to be saved by Itachi.

Only Itachi, she said. She refused to acknowledge Sasuke in any way when it came down to it and honestly who could blame her? Sasuke had done something, said something that made her fear and resent him, Kakashi just didn't know what. However, he wanted to find out, for (Y/n)'s sake. She wasn't doing so well, and even Sai seemed worried. Sakura was flipping out because Tsunade had been needing her medical help with something and that meant that the pink-haired kunoichi couldn't check up on (Y/n). She was living with Karin now, the Uchiha compound being completely destroyed and in ruins. She started living in her old home that resided in the compound when Sasuke abandoned the village. Tsunade, the Hokage at the time, had wanted the young girl to live with Kakashi or Sakura and her parents (the two had been willing, of course), however, (Y/n) had wanted to go and stay in her old house, the one that had all of those horrid memories stored up. It helped her, being there, in a way. Being there meant she could face all of the grief she had built up from the massacre and the loss of the people she loved so much.
But, she had to deal with more after Sasuke left.

Before he left to join Orochimaru, (Y/n) had been close with him. Their families were friendly with each other which naturally meant that their early lives were spent together. She still considered Naruto her best friend (along with Hinata, but that was a story for another day), however, Sasuke was an Uchiha, and that meant they were close.

(Y/n) resented the Uchiha name now, something Kakashi thought was understandable. Sasuke was a certified asshole, his family situation wasn't an excuse he could even use anymore. (Y/n) had been through the exact same thing and she didn't go on to try and destroy and reshape the Shinobi world. While she absolutely adored Naruto, they had gotten into a serious argument before she was captured by Kabuto. It had been the last time Naruto seen her, and it ate him alive right until she showed up during the war. She had begged him to stop following after Sasuke, it was useless, she said. He was apart of the Akatsuki then, and that meant that he would be openly working with the people who wanted Naruto dead. However, Naruto was Naruto, and he refused to give up on Sasuke. It honestly made no sense to (Y/n) why he was so determined to go after Sasuke after everything he had done.
Afterwards, (Y/n) hit her breaking point with Sasuke when he tried to kill Karin and Sasuke. (Y/n) knew who the red-haired Uzumaki was, they had met during the Chuunin Exams, but (Y/n) hadn't seen her since. Karin, however, was recognizable. Sakura, too. He tried to kill them and that was when (Y/n) stopped feeling anything for Uchiha Sasuke.

"Maybe you should spend some time out of the village? Maybe head over to the Sand and spend some time with Gaara. I know he mentioned last time I saw him that he needed some medical help in his village." Kakashi says, his voice gentle as he looks over at his student. She looked, over everything that he'd heard from Sakura and Naruto, tired. Apart of his trauma was not being able to sleep, so maybe that was why. (Y/n) always had a bit of insomnia though.
"Gaara? I can't just show up there, Kaka-sensei." (Y/n) says, sipping at her tea with lethargic movements.
"He's actually been asking about you. I guess seeing you during the war surprised him. He hadn't seen you since the mission to get him back from the Akatsuki. He's still very grateful, you know?"
She sits and thinks for a second, a fond yet sad smile coming onto her face.
"If I do go down there, I could go visit Lady Chiyo, too."

She meant Lady Chiyo's grave, Kakashi knew that. However, at least she looked happier.

"Actually... how about you spend some downtime while you're there? Like a... vacation!"

I don't like Sasuke as much as I probably should, oops

Sasuke: Yeah, I just figured out my brother sacrificed everything to protect the village so now I'm going to destroy it in his honor

He's a dumbass
