Sophie went back into Biana's room as the sun was starting to rise. She laid on Biana's bed, trying to sort through her muddled mess of a brain.
The rest of the gang woke up at ten-thirty.
"How did you sleep?" Keefe asked as they walked to breakfast.
"Fine." Sophie lied, hoping he didn't notice the dark circles under her eyes. Keefe raised his eyebrows and opened his mouth to respond.
"I, um, need to uh, go to the bathroom." Sophie stammered, scampering off in the opposite direction. She ran until she found a secluded closet to hide in.
She shut herself in the closet and let her tears fall. How was she going to deal with this new label? She was already the moonlark, unmatchable, experimented on. Now she was bi too?
Sophie cried until she had no more tears to shed. Then she wiped her eyes, and stared at the dark interior of the closet.
"Sophie?" A voice called. Sophie recognized the voice as Keefe's. The group must have started looking for her. Sophie pried open the closet door, confirmed the voice as Keefe's, and pulled him inside the closet.
"Sophie!" Keefe whisper-shouted. It was rather cramped in the closet with two of them. Keefe noticed Sophie's expression and whispered "Foster?"
A fresh wave of tears began. Keefe flicked away a tear and said "Foster, what's wrong?"
Sophie wiped away her eyes and replied "I'm bi."
Keefe stared at Sophie for a solid five seconds before he said "So?" Sophie stared at him in disbelief.
"So? So? So, my entire life is ruined!" Sophie said hysterically. Keefe grabbed Sophie's shoulders. "Foster, pull yourself together. Everything is going to work out."
"Really?" Sophie asked, staring into his ice blue eyes.
"Really." Keefe replied firmly, letting go of her shoulders. Then he smirked. "I assume you found this out because of someone other than Fitzy..."
Sophie sighed. She would never understand boys. "Yes." She muttered. Keefe snapped to attention.
"Who?" He asked urgently.
Sophie pursed her lips.
"Who? The suspense is killing me!" Keefe said energetically.
"Don't tell her I told you. She asked me not to tell anyone!" Sophie said.
"I promise." Keefe replied solemnly. Sophie shook her head and saw sincerity in his eyes.
"Fine. Biana." Sophie said, her heart fluttering at the name.
"Ooooooh." Keefe grinned like a madman "I was right."
"Right about what?" Sophie asked exasperatedly.
"I've suspected Biana was gay for some time now." Keefe smirked, like he was superior to everyone.
Sophie sighed. Of course.
"So, give me the deets. How is Sophiana going?" Keefe asked. Sophie smacked him. Keefe looked at her, surprise.
"Oh, the pain!" Keefe dramatically whined.
"Drama queen." Sophie mumbled, climbing out of the closet. Keefe tumbled out after her. She started walking away.
"Did you kiss!?" Keefe called after her.
Sophie spun around to face Keefe. "Maybe." She said slyly.
Keefe grinned like an idiot. "Foster, there's something I need to tell you." Keefe said, suddenly solemn.
"Yeah?" Sophie asked.
"I've liked you for a while." Keefe replied.
"Oh." Was all Sophie could say.
"It's fine though. I'll figure it out." Keefe said, smiling. Sophie could tell it was fake.
"Alright then." Sophie said, walking back down the hall.
Sophie thoughts were even more of a jumbled mess than before.
Who should she pick? Keefe? Fitz? Biana?
