You squeezed your train ticket and sighed. Today was the big day. You, y/n l/n had recently graduated high school and decided to leave your quiet, boring town to live in Inkopolis.

From what you had heard from all your older friends that had settled there too, you learned that it had stores with sleek cutting-edge gear and weapons, and one of the guaranteed best turf war teams in the world. Team Emperor.

But that wasn't important right now. You heard your trip had been delayed half an hour due to the weather that coated the county this time of year. You groaned. Oh well, you had gotten up early that morning, and you wanted a coffee anyways.

After you got your coffee and walked out of the shop, you saw everyone lining up in the middle of that section of the train station. Everyone seemed happy and excited! They then started cheering loudly. You moved to the front where you saw the very team you had been thinking about a few minutes prior. In the flesh, Team Emperor.

You saw N-Pacer quietly standing in the back, watching vigilantly over the crowd like someone could jump out and kill them. Eging Jr. was runing along the lines of fans giving out high-fives and cracking jokes. Prince silently walked along in the front with his big brother, and seemed like a nervous wreck. You stared for a few seconds, and, was Emperor himself... staring back at you?

pFFT- naw, no wayy. You were cut out of your moment of thought by a voice over the intercom which blared across the airport, "9:30 train to Inkopolis now boarding." "OH, SH*T!" You thought.

After you scrambled across the station and to your gate, you slipped in line, got your ticket scanned, and you hopped on the bullet train, squeezing through the aisles and quickly put your backpack under your seat. (yes, it was a window seat.) You got on your phone, put on your headphones, and started listening to music while watching the final people board.

You heard a slight rustle as someone sat down next to you. Slightly curious, you peered over to see Emperor himself. No wonder why he was at the train station! He must've been heading back to Inkopolis! The rest of the team sat in the seats behind him. But what were they doing here? In a town in the middle of nowhere?

He did seem like the kinda guy to parade around and let people bask in his glory and whatnot, but why here of all places? He took out his computer and looked to be analyzing his past battles. Or it may be silent gloating, whatever. You didn't pay much attention to it though, and after the crew came around for the final safety checks, the train started speeding up, and as you watched your town fly by, you fell asleep.

A few hours later, you felt the train pull you forward as it started to slow down when it was about to reach the much larger train station of Inkopolis, and you woke up when you heard the "seatbelts off" beep. When you opened your eyes, Emperor was observing you. Like, DIRECT EYE CONTACT. Not the thing you'd thought you'd wake up to.

You jumped a little bit, and he chuckled. Other than that, he stayed silent. You did the same. He got a white backpack from the overhead bin, smiled and winked at you, and walked off the train with his team. You saw Prince, Squidkid Jr., and N-Pacer trailing behind him. N pacer looked like she was going to kill you, with a stare like knives. You could hear other passengers murmuring and taking photos. The little wink had put you in a trance, and you snapped out of it after a solid 15 seconds, got your bag, and exited the train as well, but by the time you got off, they were already long gone.

After getting the rest of your bags at the baggage claim, picking up your car which your friend had driven up there for you, and buying groceries, you headed for your apartment.

Your parents had some money, so they offered to cover your rent until turf war season started. You put your groceries in the fridge, told the movers to put the boxes inside, and decided to go to the square to sign up for a team.
