The Dark Blue Blur

T A I L S

The small fox gasped and turned around at the sound of rustling. He almost ran off, but then he noticed something. The first thing he saw were those creepy looking eyes. But he then noticed the hedgehog's quills. It was then he looked curiously at the said hedgehog.
"Sonic...?" The fox asked in a soft, quiet tone. "Yes Tails...it's me...," the hedgehog replied. The fox then started to smile, and gave 
Sonic a big hug. Sonic smiled and hugged him back. Tails must've been as scared as he was. "Oh Sonic...! I...I was so scared...! I thought I would be alone...!" Tails cried. "Me too Tails...," Sonic said. "I thought so too...."
Both of the anthropomorphics looked in each other's eyes. Then Tails asked, "Sonic...? Where are we...?" Sonic honestly didn't know. He was as confused and scared as Tails was. "I don't know...," Sonic said. "It looks like Green Hill...but somehow weirder...." Tails then noticed the familiar structures such as the loops and the trees and the wooden log bridges. "Now I see it...," Tails said. "It just scared me at first.... That's why I couldn't tell...."
"Tails...do you have any reason to why it looks like this...?" Sonic asked. "Well according to how this place looks...," Tails began. "It seems as though this place...and even the whole world has gotten so miserable.... That's why there's no color, and why it's so dark and cold...." "Makes sense.... But what about us...? Sonic asked. "Well maybe whatever caused this to happen may have affected us too...," Tails said. "It's like we're living in a world with no hope...." Then the fox looked at Sonic. "Do you remember anything that happened before all this...?" He asked. Sonic shrugged. "I tried figuring that out.... But apparently...I don't remember much.... All I do remember me being angry...and then a big white light...," he explained.
Tails' eyes then widened. "I...I think I remember that...!" He said. "I remember a big storm.... Thunder and lightening.... But I don't understand why all that was there.... It was broad daylight that day...." "I think we better find the rest of our friends to figure that out...," Sonic said. "Maybe they can remember what happened.... Or at least give us more pieces to this whole puzzle...." Tails nodded. "You're right Sonic...," he said. "Let's go...."
Sonic smiled and started to walk again. But when he did, Tails hugged his arm. Sonic looked at him curiously. "What is it, Tails...?" He asked. "Sorry...it's just...," Tails began. "This whole place just scares me.... And I'm afraid of being alone again...."
Sonic looked at him and nodded. "Okay Tails...," he said. He held Tails' hand, and they both walked off as Tails held Sonic's tightly. And so the two of them worked together on their journey...side by side.
