There's a tale of a magical forest surrounding a lake. This land used to be a barren wasteland, where nothing but the harshest of things could live. A Goddess blessed the land with her magic, and created an oasis. This land was the Goddess lifeline to the human world. Many animals started to live in the area the Goddess inhabited because there was no shortage of resources.

When word spread of a land where large, plump, animals were living, many humans started to move out to this land. Within a few years the magic was starting to leave the land, making it more of a desert than the wonderful forest that the Goddess made it to be.

The Goddess, taking action to right this, went into the village the humans started to create, She warned them that this land should be shared with everyone, and that if they took advantage of the land then it would deplete into nothing once again.

The humans took her warning, and placed hunting laws in the area. It soon became apparent to the village people that the land could do so much more than provide a hospitable area, but cure diseases, give wealth to anyone who moved there, and, seemingly, grant wishes.

Lots of people started to travel to this village to cure deadly diseases that no human could stop from spreading, to find their fortune, or simply become what they had always wanted to be. To the humans this land was everything they had ever wanted. It was a blessing, but all good things must come to an end.

At the same time this magical land was attracting hundreds of people an Empire started to amass power. This Empire was spearheaded by a vile, power hungry, human. The Emperor was bent on taking over the world, no matter how it was done.

When this Emperor heard of the power of this land he was getting attacked by a more powerful force, and he was going to lose everything to this war. In a desperate attempt to salvage his Empire he took the last of his army to the village in the magical land.

When the Emperor saw the power of the land for himself he took it over. He destroyed the balance that the humans and the Goddess had created. He hunted the land endlessly to feed his growing army. He amassed a large fortune, and with that grew his power and influence.

With this newfound power he crushed the enemy force that was originally going to kill his Empire.

The Emperor became crazed with the desire to have the magical land for himself. He found out about the Goddess's influence on the land, and went searching for her in the forest around the village.

The Goddess traveled into the village one day to try and convince the Emperor of his wrongdoing, but he spat in her face when she told him of the imbalance. Before the Goddess left the village she cursed him, saying that she would one day kill him and his family, making sure that he would never be able to misuse her power ever again.

The Goddess was angry, and many times she tried to drive him out with feral animals, droughts, and fires, but it was already too late. The Emperor had gained too much power off of the land, and without a direct confrontation with the Goddess he couldn't be killed.

The Goddess was powerful, and talked with a member of the village secretly. She instructed this member of the village to evacuate the village. This member of the village did as they were told, and within the next four months everyone that would leave the village did.

The Goddess didn't foretell the Emperor seeing through her plan, and so when she walked into the village, ready to fight the Emperor, he called forth his army and circled her.

The Goddess closed her eyes and summoned all of her power, calling forth the water of the lake next to the village, she flooded it, killing everyone inside the village instantly, but herself, for Goddesses and Gods are immortal.

The Emperor died, but what the Goddess didn't realize that he sent off his wife to go back to the capitol. The Goddess, now weak, walked her land alone for eight months. The Goddess disconnected herself with the human world for the most part, only caring what happened with her forest and lake.

The Goddess separated the magical land from the rest of the world by creating a large cliff, a raging waterfall, feral beasts to walk around the forest, and a rapid current in the lake that lead to a deadly drop to the land below over a waterfall.

The Goddess was surprised, then, when a certain human somehow navigated their way through these dangers, and found her in the center of the forest. She looked upon them, and realized that they were the village member who evacuated the village when she was going to flood the area.

The village member looked upon the Goddess with fevered eyes. They told the Goddess about the Emperor's wife, and that she had had a child bearing the Emperor's blood. The Emperor had outsmarted the Goddess, and she was too weak to do anything about the newborn heir,

The Goddess raged, but soon came up with a plan, The Goddess decided that the member of the village would do her bidding for her. She would give that person's family the power to destroy not only the Emperor's line, but the whole Empire.

She gave the last of her power to the member's blood.

The Goddess was weak beyond all measures after this blessing, and was forced to weaken her influence on the human land, and go back to her own realm to recover. Though, she promised, one day she would come back to the human world and see the downfall of the Emperor's line.
