Meeting My Sister

DO I LOOK LIKE I OWN TEEN TITANS? Well, yes, yes I do look the part, don't I? I'm one of the many dedicated fans continuing the legacy of the beloved show, certainly I act more the part than those bozos at CN do with their stupid "Teen Titans GO!" In all seriousness, I, sadly, do not own Teen titans.

"Um...cool, but not cool at the same time." I said at last.

And that's how I found myself in a completely white room, seated across the table from a psychopathic girl who had been trying to kill me and my team less than half an hour earlier. Even though my superhero dad and a whole squadron of policemen were watching us and listening to our every breath, that did NOT make this any easier.

"So, Rose..." I said awkwarly, leaning back and trying to get comfortable in my plastic chair. Ravager- er, Rose -just stared at the table woodwork in front of her. I couldn't blame her for not being talkative. Keeping a conversation going just wasn't my forte. ESPECIALLY not in a situation like this.

I decided to start with the obvious. The whole reason the police cheif was trying to get her to talk, to open up.

"Why were you working for Slade?"

Rose looked up at me and into my eyes. I could sense the officers and therapists in the other room leaning forward on the edge of their seats. This was further than any of them had gotten. Good, I've made progress. I mentally patted myself on the back.

"Why are you working for Slade?" I repeated when she didn't answer.

Rose looked, no, glared, straight into my eye. "Because he's my father." She said simply. with a tone of anger and bviousness in her voice, as if pitying my stupidity, as if what other reason would she be doing this for?

Okay, that sicko criminal mastermind is no father, from the brief rundown Nightwing had given me and the team when Rose was being arrested.

"Father? You think that guy is really a father to look up to? Fathers don't abandon you, hey help you and protect you, and they certainly don't turn your little "daddy-daughter-date" into, 'Let's get Rose arrested so that she contemplates my trustworthiness!'"I snapped, all of it spilling out at once. I slammed the palms of my hands onto the table to support my upper body as I leaned across the table to get up in her face.

Now Rose didn't look like the silent, deadly Ravager that had tried to shish-kabob my idiot brothers earlier, she looked like a scared little girl. I almost felt sorry for her, besides the aforementioned fact that she tried to kill my team.

I didn't want to do this in the first place. I wanted to go home, get my stupid homework done, and then sit down at my computer next to Happy's aquarium and binge-watch some anime. And maybe look up some of those new vocaloid videos Brent was talking about yesterday.

I sighed and sank down in my seat.

'Why not tell her that?' A voice in my head asked, 'Why not tell her about your life? She is your twin sister after all.'

To be honest, Rose looked like she could use a friend. She looked like she could use someone to talk to, someone who would listen instead of barrage her with interrogation after interrogation. Her only "Father Figure," I guess, had just bailed out on her after turning out to be a sadistic, twisted criminal mastermind. I don't know about you, but I'd want to spill my feelings on someone, but I wouldn't know who to trust. Maybe, if it was me in that situation, I'd talk to Happy. Or maybe even Lucky. Pets listen with people don't.

"So, do you have any pets?" I asked. Rose gave me a weird look, and I could feel the confusion radiating from the other room. It did sound like a strange question after my sudden exclamation, but if Rose needed someone to trust to get her to talk, then I would gain her trust.

"Yes, I have a grayhound puppy named Lark," she said stiffly.

"I have a dog too, only it's a German shepherd. Those things are huge!" I spread my arms wide for emphasis, and was pleased to see a hint of a smile in her eyes, even though her mouth stayed in a tight line.

"What about brothers or sisters?" I asked. She shook her head no.

"Lucky you. I have two brthers. They're the biggest pain in the neck! Always pulling pranks, always trying to act cool, being immature, stuff like that," I ranted on and on about Leo and Michael, "My mom says that my dad was like that too, when he was their age." I smiled at her, "But I've always wanted a sister."

Rose refused to meet my gaze. Maybe I was getting a little too close for her likes. Maybe she could sense the probing eyes and ears of the people in the next room over, and felt a little self-concious as well.

"I've always wanted a sister too." Rose finally admitted. I found myself being able to relate to this girl more than your normal type of hero can relate to your typical villain. I wasn't sure if this was a good thing or not.

Over an hour later, the officers pulled me out of the room. I hadn't been able to glean much information about her relationship with Slade, but thankfully I didn't have to repeat what I did know because everyone had been listening to our conversation.

"Good job," My dad said, patting me on the back.

I shuddered with relief, "Can we please go home now?" I begged, "And can we please have pizza for dinner?"

Dad laughed, "You'll be able to go home soon enough. There's just one more thing I need to take care of, but you can just sit in that chair and fall asleep while I do," He pointed to a comfortable, plush blue chair in the precinct of the police station.

The chair did look inviting, but to be honest, I wasn't feeling very tired at the moment, and what I really wanted was to see what my dad was up to. So, I followed him. He found the cheif of police and asked her about what was going to happen to Rose.

Of course.

Rose.

My evil, white-haired, twin sister.

"We'll keep her in the juvenille detention center. Depending on what information she's able to give us about Slade she may have to spend a minimum of three years in prison.

Then dad got defensive. Of course he would, he just found his second little girl after fifteen years of searching for her.

"Look, officer, my wife was decieved by the same sicko she was. If anyone can get Rose to open up, it's gonna be her. I'm afraid that Ravager will have to come with the Teen Titans."

He did not just say what I thought he said.

My dad did not just suggest the possibility that we bring that killing machine back to Titans Tower.

"She'll be under careful watch at my house. Myself, my wife, or my daughter will be with her at all times. You have my word, officer."

Oh, of course he's not suggesting that we bring Rose back to the tower. He wants to bring her to our very own home. Might as well be letting her murder us all in our sleep! Ravager's sword of metallic chromium was taken away, but I'm betting that's not all that she was trained to kill with.

Whatever sympathy I had gained for Rose Wilson in the interrogation room was gone. No way was I letting her step foot into my house.
