COLBYS POV Casey's phone chimes in my pocket as me and Kat frantically follow behind the ambulance to the hospital I hand the phone to Kat "see who that is please" i ask Kat grabs the phone to look at the screen "Is this Casey's?" she asks I nod still keeping my eyes on the road "it's from Jake" she says I clench my jaw "what did he say?"

Kat looks down, her face plastered with sadness "he says 'i'm so sorry beautiful'" "call him" I quickly respond Kat unlocks the phone and heads straight to Jakes contact... I hear the light rings from the phone as she holds it up to her ear. all I hear on the other end is mumbling
KAT'S POV the phone rings once or twice and a raspy voice is heard on the other end, "oh thank god Casey you picked up" he says sounding out of breath "I need to tell you that I love you so much and I don't know what I'd do without you so I bought a one way ticket to LA to be with you forever-" "uh-" I try to cut him off but he keeps rambling, he still doesn't know it's me... "I thought about our lives for a while and realized the only person I want to marry is you, the only person I want to have kids with is you! the only person I want to be happy with... is you" he says happily "JAKE! it's Kat" I quickly yell "huh?" he asks out of confusion, "where's Casey?" I let out a sigh before hovering the phone in front of Colbys lips "hey Jake it's Colby" he says upset
JAKES POV My eyebrows furrow as I listen to Colby go on about the incident with Casey, I feel a single tear fall down my pale face as I look out the airplane window to see Arizona's dusty road that look as if they go on for miles, which they probably do. I was snapped out of my thought when Colby yells my name through the phone "Jake I swear if you aren't here when she wakes up in that hospital bed i'll-" he yells again "you'll beat my ass I know... The tv says i'll be at LAX in 1 hour and 25 minutes" (not lying I did research on this flight shit 😂) for some reason I couldn't feel as much emotions besides a little tear. why must the love of my life leave like this, why did I leave!? "um... sir? are you alright?" an older women next to me asks "I guess" I reply "just miss my girl" I quickly say after so she doesn't continue the conversation. I guessed she got the memo and nodded while looking away from me being easily distracted by her book in front of her. Oh Casey... what have I done to you? The plane landed soon after I opened my eyes to bright and shiny Los Angeles... man did I miss this place especially one person in particular.

I jog towards Colbys red corolla, I throw my bags in the back and jump in the front seat. I get pressed up against the back of my seat as Colbys stomps on the gas and speeds through the LA traffic. "good to see that your back" Colby finally says something but it sounds sarcastic "thanks i guess" I reply "how's Kansas?" I give him a nod and reply with a small 'good' I just can't think straight these days. Colby pulls up to the hospital and I run in quickly making sure I have everything. Whenever I or Casey was sick or hurt we brought each other something special to cheer us up along with a ribbon (it'll make sense in future chapters) The big brown door is the only thing separating Casey and I right now. I slowly push down the silver handle and shove open the door, as I peaked inside I saw an unconscious Casey and a sobbing Kat...
