"Mom, where are we going?" Little Hyunjin asked, as he held his mother's hand.

"Hyunjin-ah..." His mother called and caressed his head lovingly, tears forming in her eyes.

"You're going to love it here, hm?" His mother smiled at him.

"We're going to have fun and be a happy family. I will do anything for you, my darling."

"Mom, why are you crying?" Little Hyunjin asked.

"Mom is just happy." His mother chuckled and wiped her tears away.

"Nari-ah..." He heard an unfamiliar voice and foot steps approaching them.

He looks up and there he saw a man in a suit wearing glasses, and a pushed back hair coming up to them with his arms wide.

It was confusing for him, he didn't know what was going on.

He watched the man embrace his mother for a hug with a bright smile on his face.

Then, the man turned to him and crouched down to his height.

"You must be Hyunjin?" The man smiled at him and ruffled his hair.

After that day, his life changed.

People would think they were lucky.

His mother married a rich man after being with a unfaithful partner. Her son is studying at a prestigious school. They thought they already have everything, it was almost perfect.

Until it wasn't.

His mother became mentally unstable. He would come home from school to his mother being drunk and breaking things in sight.

She was paranoid that his husband is cheating on her. The rich man was too busy handling businesses and forming good connections and reputation from the public.

He and his step brother don't go along well either. Aside from the age difference, his step brother never really accepted them as a family as well.

It was already bad, and it became worse when his mother died.

It was the talk of the town.

Her mother took her own life.

His father took it as a nuisance instead of a time for grieving and tried his best to cover up the incident, still maintaining his image as the great father and husband.

For the first time in his life, he saw the true colors of the rich man that his mother had married.

Maybe, it was there all along, he's just too blinded to see, because her mother's smile was so bright that he didn't know she was hurting.

"She only married the man for money anyway, what a bitch."

"I bet she's just using her child on her husband."

"I heard she's an alcoholic, may god forgive her soul."

People love to talk about other people as if they're not awful themselves.

Hyunjin, hearing all these things said in his mom's funeral, made his blood boil.

Even so, what can he do? He's just a kid. What would he even say? He felt hopeless and alone.

He was in despair and his friend Bang Chan knows it well.

He helped him through so much all these years. He was more like a big brother to him now.

But sometimes, he still feel the void in his heart even when he's now grown up and finally understands it all. He still felt empty. He still feel lonely.

It was dark.

He sniffles as he curled his body on the couch, the only source of light was probably the street lamp outside seeping through the windows of the living room.

He didn't want to wake Seungmin up.

He tried to quiet down his cries as much as possible.

He could call Chan but he doesn't know where his phone is right now.

He breathed out a shaky sigh.

Suddenly.

It was warmth, it was protective, as if he was being covered from the harsh and painful world.

"I've been looking for you." Seungmin wrapped his arms around Hyunjin covered in a warm blanket.

Hyunjin slowly melts and sinks into Seungmin's embrace. He clings onto him like a little child after having a bad dream.

"Seungmin." He called.

"Hm?" The younger hums.

"I dreamt about my mom." Hyunjin sniffles.

Seungmin plays with the older's hair as he listened.

"What is it like?" He asked.

"We were all happy." Hyunjin said.

"Then why are you crying?" Seungmin asked.

"Because her smile was so beautiful." Hyunjin replies, burying his face on Seungmin's chest getting Seungmin's shirt wet from his tears.

Hyunjin continued to talk about his dream while Seungmin embraced him, played with his hair and held his hand until he calms down.

"Hyunjin." Seungmin calls him.

The older didn't reply and just listened, almost falling back to sleep.

"When these things happen, can you let me know?"

"It doesn't matter where I am, what I'm doing, just tell me and I will come to you."

"If you're hurting, at least let me be with you." Seungmin whispered.
