Willow *POV
I woke up with the biggest hangover of all time. I guess you could say I was a party girl. I didn't want to be though. I like to have fun, don't get me wrong. But I didn't like where my life was headed. I was going into my junior year of high school and I didn't have any life goals. My grades for the past two years had been absolute shit. If I didn't get my shit together, I would have to spend the rest of my life working at the McDonald's. And that's the last place I want to be. They probably wouldn't hire me anyway because I have no experience doing anything and I hate interacting with people so customer service isn't really my thing. I needed no distractions this year. Especially no distractions from boys. I got out of my bed and paced to the bathroom. I looked like absolute trash. My long, brown hair was messy and tangled. I had drool on my face. I had racoon eye from the leftover mascara that I didn't bother taking off from the night before and my lips were red and puffy. The worst part was that I couldn't remember anything from the night before. I should have never went to Delilah's party that night. Delilah was my best friend, but she was always getting me into trouble. From the moment we met, I knew that she would be in my life for a long time. And I'm glad she was because high school was really sucky. I walked downstairs to find my family eating breakfast.
"Good morning," my mother chirped. She was a very enthusiastic person in the morning. I couldn't relate.
"Good morning," I slurred.
"Willow are you drunk," my dad asked with annoyance.
"Psshh no, not right now." I wasn't lying. They did not need to no that I had a hangover the size of a giant. I mean really... my head was pounding.
My little sister, Rebecca, asked with a concerned face, "You'll pick me up from soccer practice today right?"
My mom responded for me, "Of course she will!"
"Of course I will," I replied mocking my mom, "I'll be there 5:30 on the dot."
"5:00 on the dot!"
"Yeah...yeah. I'll remember." I took my French toast upstairs and started to get ready for school. I decided to put on a plain white t-shirt with ripped jeans and white converse. I wrapped a red and black flannel around my waist and I put my hair in a messy bun. I was one of those girls. I don't care what you say. Basic or not, I liked my style.
I had to drop off Rebecca at the middle school before I could drive to my school. She must have been really nervous about me forgetting because she kept reminding me the time to pick her up. After she got out of the car, I drove to Lincoln High School. Honestly, I couldn't wait till I graduated. But with my grades, college didn't seem like much of an option. When I got out of the car, I walked to the front entrance where I usually meet Delilah every morning.
Delilah was absolutely gorgeous. She had beautiful blonde hair and bright blue eyes. She always wore dresses in heals. You would never catch her in jeans or sneakers. She said it was because she wanted to look her best at all times. But if you're asking me, you could look nice in some jeans if you really tried. Sometimes I felt like I was living in Delilah's shadow. She was beautiful and all the guys wanted to be with her. I got some attention too, but it was nothing like hers. I really didn't mind though. I liked going under the radar sometimes. I didn't always need to be in the public eye like her. I walked up to Delilah wearing a yellow sundress and some beige heels.
"Hey Will," she said happily. Delilah always called me Will. I called her Lilah. It was our thing.
"Hey Lilah!"
"Are you excited for junior year," she asked, "it's going to be fabulous!"
I said less enthusiastically, "Yeah totally."
"Don't sound so convinced," she said sarcastically.
We walked into the building chatting away. I wasn't paying attention so I accidently bumped into this tall muscular guy. Remember when I said that I didn't need any distractions this year? Well it turns out this boy would be my distraction.
