Christmas with da fam

The Invite

The rest of the drive home is silent.

When we get home Drew goes straight to his room. I go shower for about half an hour. I get dressed and then go into his room.

I see a suitcase on his floor and he's packing it.
'Plans for Christmas?' I assume.
'Yeah I'm going to see my family'
'Where abouts?'
'Fort Worth, Texas' he replies.
'Oh cool' I say back.

Andrew continues to pack as I sit on his bed.
'What are you plans for Christmas?' He asks me.
'I'm not sure what Caleb wants to do. I think he wants to go to a friends place... why do you ask?' I reply.
'Would you possibly... uh I don't know... wanna come with me?' He asks.
'What, like come to Texas with you?'
'Yeah'
'...and meet your family?' I continue.
'You don't have to if you don't want to.' He adds.
'You know what, that sounds great. Yeah I'll come' I tell him.
'Go get packing then. We leave tonight.' Andrew says. I then walk out of his room, across the small hallway and into my room.

I grab my suitcase and start packing. As I'm packing I call Caleb and ask him if he's alright with me going to Texas with Drew. He's all good with it.
I then call Mum and tell her what's happening.
'I'm not sure about you going... with a boy' she says.
'Mum, I know Andrew. What's the problem.' I ask, confused.
'You have only known this boy for a few weeks. What if he's dangerous, or not who you think he is?' She explains.
'Mum' I starts off 'Andrew is not a stranger. Caleb had been friends with him for years. I know Andrew and I trust him... now I need you to trust me. I won't do anything stupid. I promise.' I tell her.
'I know... your not like that. You're responsible.' After a moment of silence. 'Okay you can go.' She says.

I thank her and say goodbye. I get back to my packing. I've definitely overpacked but I wasn't sure what I would need.

About an hour later Caleb gets home and he offers to take us to the airport. We get all our things, get in the car and leave.

On the way to the airport I start to get incredibly nervous.

Sorry I haven't updated in ages. I've been super busy. I'll start posting more often.
