I sit down on my couch, looking around at the mountains of boxes around my living room.

"Alright, my friends are on their way." Robert says as he hands me a soda, sitting down next to me.

I take a sip, putting my legs across his lap. "God, this is so weird." I say, looking around again.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, I thought I'd be living here for awhile, not two years then moving in with my boyfriend of like four months."

"Almost five actually." Robert corrects.

I look at him. "I just - this wasn't what I expected in my life." I say.

"Oh." Robert looks down at the floor.

"Yeah, moving in with an amazing guy that I totally adore who loves me and completely changes his schedule and flies out from Australia to help me! I never expected that."

Robert looks at me with a smile. "I love you.

I tuck my legs under me, scooting over to his side. I set my soda down, then put one arm around his neck, the other on his chest as I kiss him.

Robert sets a hand on my cheek, his other arm around my waist, tugging me closer without breaking the kiss as the doorbell buzzes.

I sigh as Robert gets up and opens the door.

"Hey, boxes are over here." He says, motioning inside.

I stand up, pulling down on my t-shirt, yet another one stolen from Robert as he walks over, followed by three members of Starkid.

"So this is the mystery woman! I'm Joey." The tallest extends a hand.

"Kayla." I shake his hand.

"This is Joe and that's Jeff." Joey says.

"Wow, lot of J's. Hope I don't forget any names." I joke.

Only Robert smiles.

I glance at him somewhat nervously.

"Alright, so my girlfriend, being ever the perfectionist, figured out how best to move out the boxes by order of which room and how important the contents." He says, walking over to me, one hand on the small of my back.

"So she's a perfectionist?" Joe asks.

"Only sometimes, when she's not makin' out with my face." Robert says with a smug smile.

"Asshole!" I exclaim, shoving his shoulder as I blush.

"Dork." He retorts.

"String bean."

Robert places a hand over his heart. "That one hurts."

I chuckle, stretching up and pecking his lips.

"Ahem."

I press my lips together and step back. "Sorry." I say starting to put my hair up in a high ponytail.

"Oh get ready. Hair in a high pony means business, and business means talking a mile a minute, which is definitely not annoying in the slightest." Robert says, looking at his friends.

"Really?"

"Yep. Alright boys, follow me! It's workin' time!" I say, starting to my kitchen.

~~
I look around my empty apartment.

"Ready to go home?" Robert asks, one arm around my waist.

I nod slowly. "Yeah." I smile up at him. "I'm ready."

"You okay?"

"Yeah. Yeah, I'm better than okay." I say.

Robert smiles down at me. "Good. C'mon, let's go." He says.

~~~~ weekend ~~~~
I squeeze my eyes, then blink them open.
"Your phone won't stop buzzing." Robert mumbles.
I reach out, grabbing my phone and answering the call. "Hello?" I yawn, my eyes half shut.
My eyes pop open and I sit up. "Mom?"
Robert opens an eye, the rest of his face hidden in his pillow.
"Okay, slow down. What about the apartment?" I ask, turning in the bed.
"Yes I did get the eviction notices. And no, I'm not paying you, I found someplace new." I pull back the blanket, sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Babe...shh, sleeping." Robert groans.
I turn and glare at him, a finger on my lips. "What was what sound?"
Robert gives me a sleepy smile, blowing me a kiss.
"No, I'm not giving you my new address! It's not like you'll visit!" I say, then let out a sigh. "Oh of course you have me on speaker!"
I close my eyes as my parents start to squabble and yell at me.
"Okay you wanna know where I live now? I live with my boyfriend in his apartment. And Mom, that noise you heard was him letting me know I'm too loud. 'Cause I'm in the bed next to him." I say before hanging up and tossing my phone back where it was.
"Way to poke the bear." Robert says as I burrow back into the covers.
"Don't you mean wombat or some other Australian animal that wants to kill you?" I ask, rolling onto my side to face him.
"Uhhh no. Wombats don't want to kill you." He mumbles.
I groan. "Sorry, I'll try to be more accurate about my Aussie stereotypes."
Robert hums. "Thanks, I appreciate it."
I cuddle against him, closing my eyes as he pulls the comforter up around us.
