Like any normal morning, Link's alarm clock struck 7:00 AM. It was time for him to wake up.
"Ugh." Link groaned. "At least it's Friday."
On Friday's, he typically had an easy schedule, beginning with Statistics, which was one of the easiest classes at Central High, and ending with Study Hall. Not to mention, school gets out around an hour earlier on Fridays.
Link got out of bed to begin his morning routine. After brushing his teeth and showering, he got dressed and grabbed his basketball uniform. Today was game day, and Central High played East Eldin High, who had long been their rivals. Link walked downstairs to grab breakfast quickly.
"Mom, we're out of cereal." He said as he looked through the pantry. His mom was in the kitchen, getting ready to head to work.
"Alright. I'll get some on my way home today." She replied.
"Thanks, Mom. Are you excited for the game today?"
"Of course. I'll be there at tip off. I bet Dad will bring his camera again to get some good pictures."
"Alright cool." Link said as he grabbed a protein shake out of the fridge.
"Are you going to come home before the game?" She asked.
"Uh... probably not. Me, Trunks and the others will probably go somewhere to eat before the game."
"Alright, honey. Have a good day."
"Bye, Mom." Link said as he grabbed the keys to his truck from the wall.
After a short car ride to school, Link finally arrived on time. He looked for his usual parking spot, but for some reason, some random car had taken it.
"Wow, seriously?" He said to himself as he realized his spot was taken.
He figured an underclassman had taken it, and that was annoying to him. Link found another spot not to far away from his usual spot, so he parked there. As he opened the door and stepped out to grab his bags from the back seat, another car pulled in next to him: an all white Jeep.
"Thanks for taking my spot, Link." A familiar voice said from behind him. He turned around to see who it was.
A blonde haired girl was getting out of the Jeep. It was Zelda Castillo, and Link had taken her spot. How awkward.
"Oh. Shoot. My bad... I can... move if you want." He said, feeling a bit awkward.
"No, it's okay. I was just kidding. I just took Malon's though, so it will be fine." She replied as she walked over to Link.
"Oh, awkward." Link said sarcastically.
"What class do you have first?" Zelda asked as she locked her car.
"Stat."
Zelda laughed. "I heard that class is a joke."
"Tell me about it. I can't remember the last time we actually had homework... let alone an assignment to do."
"I'm in Calculus. I have it the complete opposite."
"Nerd."
"Shut up." Zelda said as she laughed.
"Thanks for, uh, randomly snapchatting me out of nowhere last night."
"No problem." Zelda said as she looked down, attempting to hide a smile. "Are you excited for your game tonight?"
"Honestly, I'm kind of nervous. I can't bear the thought of losing to them two years in a row. Especially since... it was my fault we lost to them in the playoffs last year."
