Aaliyah's POV

"A person with a big voice and an even bigger dream, from Detroit, Michigan. Welcome 10 year old, Aaliyah Haughton." Mr. McMahon said into the microphone as the crowd applauded.

I walked out onto the stage in the dress my grandma made just for me, my hair styled, and my makeup done. "My funny valentine.." I sang into the microphone. I was extremely nervous. So many people were watching me, it was intimidating.

"Sweet comic valentine.." I continued singing. I sang the rest of the song, "Don't change a hair for me, not if you care for me," I sang, projecting my voice. I hit my high note. I did it!

The crowd cheered and applauded loudly. "Yes Aaliyah!" I heard my dad shout from the side of the stage. I smiled and turned around, and walked to give the sound guy the microphone. I walked a little more then turned around and bowed.

"Thank you Aaliyah, two worthy performances." Mr. McMahon spoke into the microphone.

So, turns out. Katrina won. Yup, after
all my hard work. It's not that I'm mad or anything, it's just I'm sort of sad,
because I myself, believe I did great.

"You did absolutely incredible out there, babygirl!" My mom said as she hugged me. "Yeah, and so what if you lost? You still did awesome!" My dad said and smiled at me as I wiped my tears. And yes, I was crying. But I feel like I, in some way, deserved to win. But you win some, you lose some.

I just gotta keep going.
