Hiccup Imagine

Hogwarts AU.

You wandered through Hogsmead, alone. Draco had gone off to bug Weasley, with the promise to talk to Granger without insulting her.  And Pansy was on her date. So, You were wandering alone.  You spotted Hiccup coming out of a store and skipped up to him.
"Sup Ravenclaw!" You grinned
"Hey Snake." He rolled his eyes
"So," You wondered, "Where are you going?"
"No where in particular." Shrugged Hiccup. "I don't really have anyone to hang out with at the moment. Jack's out with Annabelle, Merida and Rapunzel went out for some 'girl time', Ruffnut and Tuffnut went to the joke store, Fishlegs stayed at the castle, and Astrid and Snotlout went to the Hog's head."
"Well," You stated. "why didn't you go with any of them?  I mean, besides Jack, Merida, and Rapunzel."
"I don't know." Shrugged Hiccup "I didn't want to stay at the castle, the twins are kind of annoying for long periods of time, and the hog's head scares me."
He muttered the last part, worried You’d make fun of him. But you just nodded.
"I know what you mean." You nodded, "the Hog's Head can be a little scary at first. But once you go there it's not so bad."
"I don't want to go." Hiccup stated
"Don't worry," You smiled, "I won't let anything happen to you."
"No," Hiccup shook his head.
"Oh, come on," You smiled "I'll buy you some butterbeer."
"Why can't we just go to the three broomsticks?" Asked Hiccup
"Because," You smiled "you won't get over your fear if we go there. Plus, Pansy will think I'm spying on her date.  Come on!"
You pulled Hiccup along, dragging him into The Hog's head.
"Two Butterbeers please." You grinned.
You paid the man and he started to pour their drinks.
"Do you realize his filthy those cups are?" Asked Hiccup
"Don't worry about it." You stated, "If you don't like it, you don't have to come back. But just try it."
You grabbed your drinks and led Hiccu[ over to a table, sitting across from him.

Your laughter echoed off the walls of the restaurant.
"You seem to do some pretty stupid stuff," You snorted "for a Ravenclaw."
"Yeah." Smiled Hiccup "that was the third year in a row I've set the Christmas tree on fire."
You fell off your chair and stumbled back into your seat, holding your sides.
"Are you okay?" Smiled Hiccup.
"Yeah," You waved it off, laughing, "I'm fine.  I just laugh easily."
When you finally calmed down, and were able to finish your Butterbeer, you wandered outside.
"You know what," smiled Hiccup "I actually had a really fun time."
"Me too." You smiled, "see? I told you it wasn't that bad."
"Yeah." Smiled Hiccup "but I'm probably not going there alone any time soon."
You laughed and grasped Hiccup's hand, surprising you both.
"Oh, um, sorry." You stuttered, letting go of his hand
"It's okay." He mumbled

Hiccup walked into the common room and cautiously wandered over to a girl with curly, blonde hair and wide, blue eyes.
"Hey, Luna?" Wondered Hiccup "you're friends with (Y/N), right?"
"Yeah." She smiled
"Do you happen to know what she thinks of me?" Hiccup asked
"Well," stated Luna "first time she talked about you she said you were annoying.  The last time she said she thought you were pretty nice. Why?"
"Just wondering" mumbled Hiccup
They stayed there, in silence, for a bit until Hiccup announced he had to meet Rapunzel and Merida in the library and left.
"Hey." He Smiled, coming up to the girls.
"Hey Hiccup." Smiled Merida
They studied in silence for a bit until Hiccup broke the silence.
"Hey.  I have a question."
The two girls looked up from their books.
"Okay." Nodded Rapunzel "what?"
"I need suggestions." Sighed Hiccup "there's this girl I like, but I don't know if she likes me."
"Ooh!" Squealed Rapunzel "Hiccup likes a girl!  Who is it?"
"Hang on." Stated Hiccup "so, I'm not sure how to ask her out. And I don't want her to laugh at me, if she doesn't like me."
"Hmm." Merida said thoughtfully "well, I say just ask her.  If she doesn't like you, she can't be that mean, as to laugh in your face. If she was, you wouldn't like her."
"You never know with Slytherins," muttered Hiccup
"She's a Slytherin!" Cried Merida
Hiccup blushed as Rapunzel started going on about 'forbidden romance'
"I thought you hated Slytherins, Hic." Stated Merida "well, aside from Jack. But you knew him before you got sorted."
"Well," Hiccup stated, "I did. But I guess I realized that even Slytherin's have a good side."
"That's reasonable," nodded Merida "I guess."
"Well," states Rapunzel "Jack's nice, so there must be some other nice Slytherins too. Now, who is it? Tell us!"
"Um, it's, ah," muttered Hiccup "It's...her name's (Y/N), we saw her on the train."
"Was she one of the Slytherins bugging us?" Wondered Merida
Hiccup flushed and nodded.
"So," he wondered, "what do I do?"
"I still say just ask her." Shrugged Merida
"I say let her fall first." Squealed Rapunzel "be the nicest, sweetest, boy you could possibly be, and then wait until she's head over heels."
"Yah." Stated Hiccup "I don't think that's going to work."
"Oh, well then," frowned Rapunzel "maybe you should just ask her."
Hiccup nodded and went back to his book.

You wandered out of the common room, towards the Ravenclaw house, to meet Luna.  She had only been waiting a couple minutes before Hiccup came around the corner. He stopped and stared at you for a minute. You smiled awkwardly and sent him a wave, wondering why he was staring.  He flushed and looked away, walking up to you.
"Hey." He stated, still looking at the floor
"Hey." You smiled "do you know where Luna is?"
"No." Hiccup shook his head.
"You can look at me you know." You stated "I'm not going to make you look away.  It's weird when you're talking to me, but not looking at me."
"(Y/N)," wondered Hiccup "can I ask you something?"
"Sure." You shrugged.
"Why do you talk to me?"
"What?"
"Well," sighed Hiccup "most Slytherins hate muggleborns."
"Well," You stated, "I could ask you the same question.  Most people outside my house don't like Slytherins."
"I don't know." Shrugged Hiccup "once you get to know you, you're not that bad. You're pretty nice."
"Thanks, Hic." You smiled. "I guess it's the same for me. You're not a bad guy."
What did you call me?" Wondered Hiccup
"What?"
"You called me Hiccup." Stated Hiccup "that's the second time. You've stopped calling me Haddock."
"I don't call my friends by their last names." You smiled.
"So," stated Hiccup "we're friends?"
"Well," You shrugged, "I thought we were. Why? Do you not want to be?"
"No, no!" Cried Hiccup "in fact I...I, uh, I want to be...would you want to go out sometime?"
You froze, a bit surprised by that question.

Hiccup started to mentally kick himself.  Why would you ever want to go out with him?

Slowly, a smile formed over your face.

“Sure,” You said.

Hiccup looked at you with wide, surprised, eyes.

“Really?!”

“Yeah.” You smile, “I’d love to go out with you.”
