This experience with the show has been truly amazing. I never thought I would’ve gotten this far in the Xfactor yet here I am in the final 3. Personally, I don’t mind if I don’t win. In fact, I would’ve been happy to have just passed my audition.

Simon had been my mentor for the Under 25 Girls and the other 3 girls had been knocked off within the first 5 shows. Simon wasn’t clutching me tightly like the other mentors to their contestants; Marge, who sung like Whitney Houston and was a mum to me in the house, had Mel as her mentor. Reece had the Under 25 Boys, his last contestant was the boy who auditioned after me. His name was David and we’d become close during the competition. I had lost interest in him after bootcamp and we were more like bestfriends.

Rita was sitting in the middle of the bench, in front of the immensely loud crowd of thousands. She had the Over 25 Boys and all of her contestants had been knocked off fairly quickly. There were signs spotted all over the building with my name on it and it made me so happy that I finally had my own little fandom. I had 800,000 followers on twitter, a lot from overseas and Little Mix (who were guests at Simon’s house) had promised that I could be their support act on their worldwide tour.

Both mum and dad had stayed in Sydney for the duration of the shows, always in the front rows. I was bubbling with joy, everyone in suspense as the places of the show were about to be announced. My heart was beating in my ears as I turned my eyes toward the presenter, Shelley Craft.

“In third place is-“ she opened the red envelope and squealed. “-DAVID DAWN!”

A disappointed look crossed his face but he smiled through it. I don’t understand how you couldn’t be happy, but I guess some people weren’t very thankful for what they achieve.

Shelley opened a separate card and squealed again, glancing at both Marge and I.

“In second place is; drum roll please?” She grinned at the crowd as pounding reverberated around the theatre. “CELESTE ORITA!”

The crowd erupted in a mixture of cheers, boos and comments about how I should have won. Glitter and streamers erupted from the roof as strobe lights danced around and I hugged Simon tightly before jumping toward Marge in my high heels. David, Marge and I group-hugged for a few seconds before dispersing and re-joining our mentors.

Our mentors were to take turns in talking, and it went in order; Reece, Simon and Mel. After Reece made his huge speech, it was Simon’s turn. His speech was simple, yet effective.

“This is not the end for Celeste.”

Marge finished her final performance as all we contestants crowded around her on stage. She really deserved to win this. The Xfactor was done and over for 2014. The lights dimmed and cameras shut off, though the crowd kept the atmosphere bright and cheery. It was my turn to thank the audience for coming and end the entire show, so I stepped forward and did my deeds.

Backstage, I met mum, dad and Kate. I was congratulated on my effort by people I had never even seen before (probably stage crew) and when I turned down a lit up hallway to get to a dressing room to change from my cascading cream coloured, chiffon dress I was met by none other than One Direction at the door.

My mouth dropped open. My life is complete. I don’t know, but I jumped on them with my arms wide and received many sloppy kisses on the face. I hadn’t seen them in so long other than through the computer, so it was so amazing to be reunited with my close friends.

“We watched every show and every single one of your video diaries Celeste.” Harry chirped proudly. A happy tear ran down my cheek as I wrapped myself around his body. I stepped back and had nothing more to say to them than how much I love them.

“I love you!” We all blurted out at the same time. I noticed Niall properly for the first time. He was blushing madly. Weirdo.

“By the way, Nemi was just a publicity stunt, love.” Louis soothed me as my mind started to drown in sadness from not hearing from Niall in so long.

“And I was here for every show, including your audition. I told you you’d get far.” Niall spoke quietly, remembering what he once told me so long ago. I smiled sadly and launched myself at him, though aiming for his lips. He immediately responded and suddenly we were the only people in the world, and that’s all that I needed.

I felt a tap on my back, and pulled away, straightening out my dress and looking at the person who tried to get my attention. It was the assistant from my first audition.

“Simon wants to see you, honey.” She said quickly before rushing off, giving me no directions.

I glanced back at the boys, biting my lip.

“We’ll see you at the hotel.” Zayn said in his thick Bradford accent. Nodding, I raced out of the room and into a huge room where the contestants and mentors would be. I hadn’t even changed yet, noticing only when I passed a tinted glass wall, my reflection rippling as I jogged past in my high heels.

“Uncle Si?” I hollered out into the crowd of about 20. His head immediately rose above the others and floated towards me, stepping out of the swarm of people.

“Ah, I wanted to see you.” He smiled crookedly. “Let’s talk business.”

I nodded, confused.

“How does it sound I sign you to Syco and you can go on tour with Little Mix in a few months like they said?” He asked casually.

I almost fainted.

“Are you kidding?! This has been my lifelong dream!” I screeched.

“Alright, well for now you can relocate to London with me and do some local gigs in clubs and such while you work on an album? You can sing covers for the tour and gigs, but we already have a few songs prepared, and Niall mentioned something about wanting to write with you..” He  had his business tone on as I nodded slowly. “Since you’re still 5 months off legality, you can have a tutor. How is all this sounding to you? It’s your decision, not your parents, remember that. They had their future, this is yours. Yay or nay, Celeste?” He asked playfully, nudging me in the ribs.

“YAY!” I yelled, jumping off the sofa we had sat on. I did my victory dance which consisted of a compilation of ‘pat the dog, screw the lightbulb’, ‘stop the traffic, let ‘em through’, the Inbetweeners Dance and the Row.

When I came down from my high, I noticed a lot of people, including my parents and bestfriend staring at me. I blushed and shrugged.

“Don’t mind me, just moving to England like I always planned and going on a worldwide tour to perform for and with my favourite girl band.” I smiled, waving and spinning around to face Simon.

“You’ll leave in 3 weeks, just bring clothes and anything you would want in your apartment. I can have it decked out for you.” He gave me a small smile before strutting back into the crowd of talented Australians.

My life is complete.

(A/N it’s July 2014, between now and the audition was 4 months and the story has progressed about 10 months excluding the prologue/when celeste was in year 8, and its not the end, heh. This has gone in a completely different direction than my plan, but whatever. New idea)
