The phone vibrating beside me only gets louder ad I try to mute it out. Giving in, I break my sleep and grab it to find it's my mother.
"Hello?"
"Oh honey...Are you still asleep? It's 12 o'clock in the afternoon!" I run my hands through my hair and groan. I hate waking up early but now I hate myself for sleeping in...because of her.
"I'm sorry. Is Henry okay? Where is he?" I question as I slide out of bed.
"He's with me. I registered you for school and now we are grocery shopping." Mother informs. Next I hear small voices in the background. Then comes shuffling on the other end.
"Mornin' mommy!" Henry squeals in my war. A big smile graces my face, imagining what my adorable baby boy looks like in this moment.
"Hey kid! How did you sleep?" I can hear Henry adjusting the phone on his face before he speaks.
"I sleep good! My bed soft mommy." He giggles.
"Thats great baby. i'm glad to hear that."
"No more mommy snoring," he laughs again. I purse my lip at his cruel bullying.
"I do not snore!" I whine.
Henry laughs more loudly; it's music to my ears. The thing I cherish lost is knowing that my son always has a happy smile on his face. He literally bubbles with joy everywhere he goes. The shuffling is audible again.
"Emma," mom announces her presence. "I'll see you when I get home okay?"
"Alright. I love you mom."
"I love you too sweetie." She expresses before hanging up. I stretch my limbs and walk into my in suit bathroom. It seems to be the only perk to this new home.
I grab my toothbrush and look at my text messages. Of course I click on Regina's first.
R: I hope you slept well babe
E: I only did because I dreamt about you
Regina is probably busy doing other things, so I click on other messages. All of my new friends have been texting in a group chat they added me to. The personal one that Tink sent me caught my eye though.
T: Em! It's going to be 90 so I'm having a pool party. Ur more than welcome to come.
I smile at her gesture and hold the toothbrush with my teeth so I can text her back.
E: wow thanks! I'll be there!
T: good. You can meet all of the juniors and seniors at my school.
E: sounds good
It then dawns on me that I need to find out what school my mother enrolled me in. I honestly hope that it's a school with Tink and Ruby. Belle goes to a private school and Jefferson is homeschooled. Maybe that's why he's a little coo coo. He has way too much time on his hands for a punk.
I finish up with brushing my teeth and take a warm shower. I had to relieve myself due the images of Regina in my mind. If my brain isn't distracted, she always pops up. It's so annoying but in a good way.
I get out and dig through my box of clothes to find my bathing suit. I also pull out a pair of shorts and a white tank top to cover myself for when I'm walking around. This has to be hottest July in history. 90?! Thats insane!
My phone vibrates but not because it's a text. It continues to announce an incoming call; I smile when I read Regina's ID. I quickly answer.
