children are running around the outdoor playground, going down the slides, climbing the monkey bars and jumping on the swings as the sun illuminates them with it's light.

two teachers stand by the door, hiding in the shade as they watch the children prance around and play with each other, falling down then almost immediately getting up and continuing to run as though nothing happened. the only sign of them ever tripping being the forming bruises on their knees and hands.

three boys in particular occupied one of the many swing-sets on the playground. one of them sitting on the swing as the oldest pushed him forward while the third sat on the swing next to them, observing with a smile on his face.

❝johnny hyung you have a bruise on your elbow, how did it get there?❞, jaehyun, the one on the still swing asked as he eyed his best friend curiously.

❝i don't think it's mine, maybe it's from my soulmate❞, the older shrugged, pushing his other friend forward once again while chuckling, ❝they're so clumsy, the one on my knee just healed a few days ago.❞

❝well if it don't hurt, it's theirs❞, the third boy, yuta, spoke as he put his legs down to stop his swing from moving and looked up at the older, ❝you think they play a sport? they seem to get hurt a lot.❞

❝that would be cool, wonder what they would play tho❞, johnny thought for a moment, maybe they played soccer or basketball, maybe even danced. whichever it was, if they even played anything at all, johnny was sure they were talented at it.

❝oh yuta hyung, the mark on your cheek faded!❞, jaehyun said then pointed to his friend's face.

❝oh yeah...❞, yuta touched his cheek, specifically remembering where the little mark used to be. he remembers where all of his soulmate's injuries were, since there were only 3 or 4.

he even writes them down in his diary when he gets them, since it's not very frequent. the little mark on his cheek was a reminder that he did indeed have a soulmate, albeit one that just seems to never get hurt or trip.

he was a little upset about it since all of his friends and classmates share some sort of birthmark, permanent scar or even freckles with their soulmate. all yuta gets is a little scar every few months. sometimes he even forgets that his soulmate is there and sometimes he just gets paranoid something happened to them, even though his father reassures him that's it's nothing. his soulmate just might not be a very lively kid or they're really careful.

❝well my soulmate got a little scar right here!❞, jaehyun said as he pointed next to his eye where a small mark was visible, ❝now we both look awesome!❞

❝that's cool❞, johnny said as he moved closer to examine the scar next to the shorter boy's eye. you could usually tell when a scar was actually that person's and when it was from their soulmate, and jaehyun's, or well his soulmate's, was no different. it looked like it was gonna be a permanent scar too.

❝how did they even get a scar there?❞ yuta asked, cocking his head to the side as he too moved closer to look at the scar more clearly.

❝i don't know but it's so cool! i cant wait to meet them so i can kiss it and tell them how beautiful it is❞, jaehyun said as he smiled widely. he would always gush about his soulmate for the smallest things. wether it be a scar or just a random daydream, johnny and yuta were familiar with them all as jaehyun had basically talked their ears off with his stories.

and although yuta knows jaehyun never has bad intentions with it, the stories made him feel a little bittersweet.

❝okay that's kinda cute❞, johnny said as he looks at the younger.

❝just like my soulmate❞, if possible, jaehyun smiles even wider after saying that.

and yuta smiles too, maybe he could have something like that in the future too.

maybe if he was lucky.

hi everyone!
i'm really excited to finally start this book.

it's gonna be my first story on here and of course it's about yuwin because they make me open soft hours every time (even tho this book is gonna have a fair share of angst).

i think soulmate aus are a fun concept to play around with and i wanted to do something that i hadn't seen much of, so i hope you'll enjoy my attempt at this prompt.

also just a little disclaimer:
i'm not someone who has dealt with or deals with depression and as this story includes themes of depression and cutting i tried to do as much research as i could to not make this offensive or insensitive.

i'm sorry if anything is inaccurate and if you think i portrayed something extremely wrong feel free to tell me in the comments and i'll try my best to fix it. i don't mean to offend anyone with this story, i found a similar idea and thought it would be interesting to make a story on it.
