5 minutes pass...I hear the door shut but Alex doesn't come back.
10 minutes.
15 minutes.
20 minutes.
25 minutes.
After the longest 30 minutes ever I hear the door open and footsteps....Well more like feet dragging. I hear small coughs, like a person had their airways closed off and is just now able to breathe. It starts to sound like the person starts stumbling around then a knock.
"Alex?" I call in the softest voice I can manage while still being audible as I walk towards the living room.
