Harry has lived next door to Esmae for 3 years, half the time he is working as a cop but Esmae hasn't really noticed that much about him when he is home, living next door to...
"Erm, I'm here to pick up Ella." I stated to the lady at the desk at El's daycare. Es asked me to pick her up cause she was running really late at her photoshoot today.
"I didnt realize Esmae was having someone else pick her up today." She said back to me.
"Uh last minute thing, shes stuck at work and asked me to come get her. If it's an issue I can call her." I stated and she shook her head no and told me to follow her. Shortly after she walked me through the doors I heard "HAWWY!!" And two tiny hands wrapping around my leg.
"Hey Ellie belly." I said and picked her up and got her lunch pale and backpack and went out to my range rover to take her home.
"Wheres mama?" She asked.
"Shes stuck at work for a minute so she asked me to come get you, is that alright El?" I asked. I didnt want her to feel any kind of way of me coming to get her instead of her mom.
"Of course Hawwy!"
"Now what would you like for dinner cause its just me and you till mommy comes home love." And she of course wanted McDonalds.

I tucked El in at about 8:30 and I dont know when Es will be back. I think I fell asleep on the couch at midnight. At some point when I was in and out of sleep i heard her come in really quietly.
"Hazzy you're still in your uniform." She whispered while she laid on the couch with me. "Didnt have time to go to go to queens and come back to hells kitchen before it was too late, had to get her some dinner." I said.
"What did she have for dinner?" She asked while I moved her to sit up so I could lay on her lap. "A burger and fries from mcdonalds, she ate most of it." I replied very sleepily to her.
"Why are you so tired? I wouldn't of had you pick her up if I'd known."
"Just a long day darling. Arrested a couple guys in the bronx and went back to the station and picked her up, got her dinner. I tried to stay awake for you." I said.
"Harry you have to be back at the station at 7am. Why would you try to wait up for me?" She asked while running her hands through my hair.
"Just wanted to spend time with you S'all."
She was quiet for a while, maybe she thought I fell asleep.
"I see you found my stash of cheez-it." She whispered.
"I was hungry, I dont have all these snacks at my flat." I said as I laid more into her lap. All the sudden I felt her playing with one of my rings and turning it. It was my H ring.

I wrapped her hand in mine and rubbed my thumb on her palm.
"Harry?" She whispered.
"Mm" I acknowledged her, but I'm so very tired.
"I wish I never moved here." She stated. That woke me up a bit. "Well why would you say that Es?" I questioned.
"You're not around as much. Ella asks for you all the time Harry."
"What do you mean she asks for me all the time?" I asked.
"Like at bedtime if she asks if you're gonna stay with us, its world war two trying to get her to calm down and to go to sleep. She loves you so much Harry." She said and after that I had to sit up I couldn't lay in her lap any longer.
"Why dont you call me? I'm not that far away Es." I said and rubbed her cheek with my hand.
"Yeah but it's like an extra 20 minutes because of traffic which makes it a whole 40 minute drive and the subway isnt any better." I moved on the couch, my back now against the arm of the couch and I pull her up against my chest and hold her.
"But what if this never works Harry? What if she gets too attached to you and we dont work out and i-" She kept rambling I had to interrupt her.
"Look. I like you just as much okay? I really do." I said and kissed her neck. "I'd love nothing more then to help you raise her. I'm not going anywhere, promise." I said and shoved my head in her neck.
"Can we take this slow then?" She asked and I squeezed her waist a little tight and nodded my head into her neck.
"Let's get the hell to bed now Es. I'm so fuckin tired babe." I said and grabbed her hand and drug her to her room.

I was woken up suddenly by something tugging on my hand in the middle of the night. I opened my eyes and looked up to a tear faced Ella.
"Ella, babe what's the matter?" I said sitting up rubbing my eyes from sleep.
"I frew up hazzy." She said like she was in trouble.
"Hey now, it's alright. C'mon." I said and got out of Esmae's bed and picked her up and took her to her room.
I turned on her light and she had some sick on her shirt so I picked her out new jammies and threw the dirty ones in the wash. "Alright now go brush your teeth and I'm gonna clean this up." I told her and she went to the bathroom while I grabbed supplies to clean up her puke.
"Hazzy. What are you doing?" Es said coming out into the kitchen.
"Erm, El is sick so I was gonna go clean it up off her floor. Shes in the bathroom brushing her teeth." I said and contuined to get cleaning supplies from under the sink.
"Harry, you dont have to do that, I should be." She said trying to move me out of the way. I grabbed her wrist and pulled her to me. "Just go back to bed please, I got this." I said and kissed her forehead.
"Daddy I feel yucky." El said and hugged my leg. "Cmon babe, let's go lay on the couch." I grabbed her and some pillows and blankets and turned on her princess movies until the early morning.
